Default my boyfriend made me fat!

Hi everybody! i finally decided enough was enough and its time to take my life back from all this chunk! i used to be 125lbs just a year and a half ago and i really need to get back there! i dont have a scale yet, im thinking of getting one this week but if i had to take a guess i would say i weigh about 150-155lbs. which i know doesnt sound like much, but for me every pound is like the end of the world ughhh. now the tricky part for me is right now im staying at a place where i cant really cook (like dorm living but im not a student hahaha!) and so me and my boyfriend eat out all the time, twice a day everyday and its finally been catching up to me (not him since hes one of those guys that couldnt gain fat-weight if you fed him nothing but twinkies and mc'ds for a year! And im just tired of feeling lathargic and lazy all the time i just wanna feel better about myself and get back to how i was just a little while ago. Last night i was looking around this site & everyone seems so great i cant wait to start

Welcome to your new life Jinx31! I have long said that boyfriends are fattening, so much so that I don't have one - essentially jinxing myself! Ha!

Seriously, eating meals out so frequently is sabotage. Too much hidden salt, sugar, cream, fat. It adds up and contributes to feeling of lethargy.

I actually enjoy looking up healthy recipes, shopping for the right healthy foods and cooking at home these days. It would be nice to share this experience with someone special but until the right guy comes along again this is my reality. I now save eating out for special occasions. I realize that my body can only take so much added sodium, fat etc. that it has to be "worth it" if I am going to consume it, i.e. spending time with a friend whom I haven't seen in awhile or other celebration.

Are you two active together? I found that with my last boyfriend once we incorporated weekend hikes into our routines we wanted to be healthy all around and got into the at-home-meal-prep part of total health.

Good luck on your journey. Welcome! You'll find a lot of support here.

If you're living in a place where you can't really cook, why not try adding a few frozen meals into your diet? It may not be the best option out there, but if you read the nutrition info you can pick lower calorie/fat/carb/whatever options for yourself. Not only will you know what it is you're eating, but it will also cost less than eating out twice a day. Good luck!
