Unhappy Feeling down but motivated

I'm a 25 year old grad student whose struggling with my weight. It doesn't help that those around me are all athletes running marathons, and triathalons or those who are just blessed with great genes.

Weight has always been an issue for me. During undergrad I lost about 85 lbs and was looking great at 140. In a year I put on 100lbs + due to a thyroid problem, but also because I stopped exercising and started to eat not such good things.

Since then I've lost about 20 lbs but have yo-yo'd btw 260 and 240. Losing the weight just feels like a never ending struggle. I'm back to working out for about 1.5 hours 5-6 days a week including weight training.

I am currently in physiotherapy school, therefore exercising is a big part of what I preach. I do exercise, I just wished it actually LOOKED like I did.

Thats my story....here's to hoping this is the motivation I need to keep up with it.

I am also very wordy

Sounds like your off to a good start! What food plan are you following?
There is a ton of information on this site about many different types of food plans. Try to choose one that you can stick with long term and if one does not work, try another one.
Best of luck to you!

THank you guys!

I have tried weight watchers in the past. I feel its a program that you can really maintain even after losing weight. I'm not following it as strictly as I should.....maybe thats my problem.

To help stay motivated, try to check in on this site daily and join one of the challenges. It really helps hold you accountable when you have a group of people all striving for the same (or nearly the same) goals you are.

Welcome to the board!
