Well, bowl me over and color me aqua! I'm first! Sitting in a diner at the airport having breakfast AND coffee waiting to board my flight to New Mexico. I am not one for museums but boss lady and I are going to see the Georgia O'Keefe museum today before dinner with my members and 2 days of conferencing.
Talk about a surprise! Jenn, you must have been up very early. Enjoy the good parts of your N.M. stay. I think you may like the Georgia O'Keefe museum.
Felt a bit cruddy Sunday and yesterday and started the day with "morning sickness". I hope that was the last of it because I am meeting Joan for lunch today over in Westport. Terri, Ernie and I are hoping to see "The Help" in Kingston tonight too. My fingers are .
Ruth, it sounds like you have a nice day planned. I hope you continue to recuperate and feel better.
I'm off to get my routine 'cut & color' before going over to the farm this morning. It's the first day of school for the girls, so I can take my time getting over there. I'll be looking forward to hearing all about their first day back when I pick them up this afternoon.
Jenn - safe travels! I'm not a huge museum person either, but Georgia O'Keefe does beautiful things. (and I do remember everyone giggling about her in high school because everything was phallic)
Ruth - hope you feel better soon! Let us know how the movie is.
Well, a successful phase I day yesterday, despite REALLY debating to put it off one more day. DH had a miserable day at work, and makes for a lot of stressors.
Hopefully, today will be better. At least the weather is beautiful!
Slept in so on the run this morning. DH has an appt. right after pooling so I need to be organized. His wake up is coming soon.
Twynn, great P1 day!
Ruth, hope you feel better soon!
jenne, GO museum is smallish...not like what you're used to. They have a cafe which has healthy food choices and you can sit outside. I had a asian inspired salad with seared ahi.
Linda, yay for good hair!
Cyndi, thinkin' bout you!
Good morning I'm starting this day with a positive outlook. I officially end full time work tomorrow (of course it will be a long day) and am looking for places to volunteer the rest of the week. I had planned a trip to my parents but there is actually no safe route over the mountains that isn't hours longer. Since I just saw them a few weeks ago and they're doing well I will wait until travel is easier. I need to help, I know it will make me feel better. Still so much news and so much devastation and loss here. FEMA will begin helicopter drops of food and water. I still have moments of jaw drop. I know that will continue for a very long time.
Jenn - I'm so jealous! I've wanted to get to that museum for ages but haven't yet.
Ruth - hope it passes and you are able to enjoy your day
Cottage - happy coloring
Twynn - How many days of P1 are you planning? Congratulations on a successful first day.
Debbie thanks. Nice to see you sleep in now and then. Happy pooling
Time to figure out my plan for the day. I can't get most of the places I planned so will do more data entry. In happier news - a covered bridge that was reported washed out isn't. I'm going to walk down and enjoy it today.
Jenn-Whoa-early bird! Enjoy your time there! I am sure the museum will be fascinating!
Ruth- I have heard it is amazing! and that you should bring tissues when you go... I would like to see it and I think I will buy the book for vacation next month but I don't want to spoil it by seeing the movie first!
Cottage- I just love getting my hair done(nails too!) I almost feel like I have been "put back together"!lol Enjoy!
Twynn- Enjoy your beautiful weather! Eat all your p1 meals outside, maybe that will help ;0)
Debbie- Enjoy your day!
Cyndi- I hope that you get the feeling that I did after the devastation... Sounds like your timing is similar to mine as well(loss of job, even though yours is more of lessening!)... After the flood in Nashville last year I ended up figuring that I didn't have a job so I made volunteering my job when I could. The sense of community you will find is truly amazing. When the news teams are gone(and they will quickly find other, less important things to cover) the community will remain strong and putting itself back together. The volunteers we had were absolutely amazing. And I have a feeling you guys like us will not get the coverage you deserve because there will not be the many rotten eggs of other places causing problems, looting, and begging for help...as a community you will pick yourselves up, dust off, and get moving to make things better... ( sorry for the book!)
As for me this morning I am out to do another day of c25k. I did yesterday and am wondering if I will regret two days in a row but I am going to try!!! I will be back later to report my plan and such ;0)
Ruth - Hope you feel better. I'd like to see that too. I liked the book and hear this is one movie that is actually as good or better.
Linda - Back to school makes me feel like the summer is over. So where is my fall weather?
Twynn - Kudos on PH1. I've done a few days lately and really need more. Makes me feel so much better and brings back control.
Debbie - Have a great day!
Cyndi - I saw lots of VT shots on TV. So sad.
Rikki - Kicking butt - good for you! I read on facebook that my brother started c25k yesterday. I had no idea he even exercised!
It's my anniversary today. DH and I are going to see the Harry Potter movie now that the crowds have died down. Not very romantic but we rarely go to the theater so this will be fun. Then he wants to go out to eat, of course. Probably won't be OP but not horrible either. I have now been married half my life! Time flies.
Good Morning! I've been MIA this weekend as I have been celebrating gf's bday! She's the big 3-0! We have not been following SBD, but are planning to start another 3 weeks of phase one tomorrow, since we had only gotten through the first 10 days. Between the MN State Fair, an amusement park, and a couple dinners out at favorite restaurants, it was just something I chose to plan for and am actually excited to get back on track tomorrow!
Jenn-I missed how the rest of the move went - how is the new place? Have fun in NM!
Ruth - I hope you feel better!! Let us know what you think of The Help if you see it tonight.
Linda - I love getting a good cut and color I can't believe it's fall school time again!!
Twynn - way to go on a successful P1 start! Hope today is another great day.
Debbie - have a great day!!
Cyndi - I hope it is encouraging to see the bridge you thought was lost! I'm jealous of you ending your full time position!!!
Rikki - way to go with the c25k! I got into running that way years ago. Keep up the great work!
Lexx - my boss had that salad. I am not a fan of raw fish, so I got a spinach salad (not nuts since I had some on the plane) and salmon. It was yummy!
The museum was...disappointing. Not in size, but that there were only 10 or so pieces of hers. I did get to see one of my favorite pieces of hers in person so I guess it was ok (this one). I saw a cherry blossom sketch of hers too I loved nad bought DW a bowl depicting the work for our anniversary (we have a history with cherry blossoms...).
The move - oye! I came home to HUNDREDS of ants (many of you know how deathly afraid of bugs I am) last night and DW said now the a/c is broken. Plus, the key fobs don't work on our floor. Getting a lot of exercise going down two flights of stairs to get in or out each night! Not a great start there, to say the least.
Off to dinner with the members and to find a CVS to stock up on some staples though I made smart decisions on booking the food for the next two days, I want to have just in cases!
