Default Reward Zone (Need Ideas!)

So I spent a long time thinking about how to reward myself for weight loss. I don't know about everyone else but I need something to look forward too on this journey. I have managed to make myself a "tier" reward program but I am missing some steps and need ideas.

I am also really curious about what other people are doing for their own rewards.

Tier Program
  • 5 lb Lost: ThinnerView Picture (show you what you will look like after weight loss)
  • 10 lbs Lost: Need Ideas
  • 15 lbs Lost: Pedicure/Manicure
  • 20 lbs : $30 at Tevana
  • 25 lbs Lost: $40 on Books
  • 32 lbs Lost: TV DvD Set (Coffee Prine or PGSM)
  • 39 lbs Lost : Need Ideas
  • 46 lbs Lost : Hair Highlights
  • 54 lbs Lost: New iPod (will be Onederlander here!)
  • 61 lbs Lost :New Special Event Outfit (ie. Dress, etc)
  • 70 lbs Lost: NYC Trip for Broadway
  • 80 lbs Lost : New Dress from Renn Fair I forgot to put this one in here.
  • 90 lbs Lost: Need Ideas
  • 100 lbs Lost : Dance Lessons (if I have a willing partner!)
  • 112 lbs Lost: (Goal!) Cruise

Additionally:
I will tally all the pounds I lost in a month and for each 1, $10 is going in my bank for a cruise or new wardrobe. (i.e.: If I lose 5 lbs a month, I "bank" $50 for that month)

I get $5 for every workout I do and that money is my "slush" fund (for things like movies, pool, bowling, etc) for the next month. So if I don't work out I don't have money to do anything. (i.e.: I work out 12 times in August so I have $60 for fun in Sept).

I love this! Your rewards are awesome. I, too, plan to put away $10 for every pound lost. I REALLY like the idea of $5 for every workout for the fun the next month. I have a really hard time getting myself to work out. I've been off plan way too long. I don't really have any ideas for your blanks. Maybe hair highlights or mani/pedi again, since it will be a while since you had them done...good luck!

Hi! This is such an awesome idea! I'm sure that's very motivating!

As for the missing rewards... how about spa treatments?

How about a facial? I love getting my facials done.

Wow, those are some awesome rewards! And you've come so far already. It encourages me. I'm from NYC, and I love the Broadway idea. I feel like that should be a reward for everything. Perhaps an opera for the 80 pounds? I'm not a huge opera fan myself, but I saw a comedic opera, and loved it.

For me, personally, after I got really into it weight loss sort of became like a game to me. I always was curious to try out the latest/greatest health foods and supplements and usually somewhat expensive items from places like Whole Foods. Maybe after a certain weight goal you should allot yourself some money to go buy a few "luxury diet items" to make the process more enjoyable. (example: low cal peanut butter, arctic zero ice cream, etc...)

@Ade: I figured I would use some of my psychology degree for the workout thing! I am tying doing something I don't like (working out) with something I like (going out). Granted, it is supposed to happen immediately but still! Good luck getting back on plan and if you want to steal my work out payments, by all means go ahead. That is why I am sharing it (that and it will cut down on my junk spending by budgeting me o.O)

@Chou: Thanks, it took me a long time to come up with this step reward system (considering I decided I didn't want to just to 5 lb every time) and then the rewards themselves. I will defiantly look into spa treatments, any you can recommend?

@Ryler: Are all facials the same or is there a specific type I should try? I have never done any spa stuff before so I am clueless. >_<

@Polli: I agree! I am not from NYC (I am from an hour away) but I love Broadway. The problem is it is so expensive! I would actually really like to see an Opera but I can't think of anyone I know who would be willing to go with me. I am the only one who thinks Operas are interesting. I am glad I could be encouraging to someone. (that is a high five right? )

@Kawaii: It took me a long time of looking at JC to figure out what you were talking about! I am going "JC Penny has a shoe brand?!" before it hit me. Jimmy Choos, right? I am not sure I even know what they look like but you go girl! I am sure those are pretty expensive shows. I would check em out but I doubt they would fit me. I have huge feet for a girl (size 11 and a wide, ewww). When you get em, share a picture I woud love to see them.

@Doop: That is an interesting idea and if I lived alone, I would be all for it. However, I currently live at home and I barely get to eat anything I buy. I buy a pint of B&Js ice cream and don't even get a taste of it. When I call people on it they say "if it is in the house it is fair game". It's not cool at all!

Anyone else want to share their weight loss rewards?

Manicures, massages, or even a spa afternoon.

You could probably get a great deal from a beauty school to get a TON of pampering for a decent price. I'm on a budget, so that's my plan for hitting my goal. :-)

Not all facials are the same. There are some spas that use machine-only facials and some that actual people perform. I prefer the one where people perform because the use multiple equipments based on the condition of your skin. They also clean out your pores, etc.

@Sarah Rae: I didn't think of that for a beauty school! That might be one of the best ideas yet. ^_^

@Ryler: Clean Pores? Sign me up. Where did your icon come from?

OOH I love Teavana!! That place is Ah-MAZING! We don't have them here, the first one I found was in Vegas.

Other ideas: Agree on the facial. Try to find a salon that does the new HydraFacial. Google it and watch the youtube videos. It's awesome
Agree with the massage! I would put that down as a reward for every 10 pounds if i could. I do them monthly as is for general health purposes.

Rock Climbing
Ziplining
Spray Tan
200$ in New clothes (by 90 pounds, you're gonna need em!) - Shop at places like TJMaxx, Marshalls, and consignment stores. You would be shocked at how much awesome stuff you can get, ESP if you wear smaller sizes!
Dinner somewhere nice and a Movie with a friend
