Hi everybody!

  • Hi,
I'm a 50 year old divorced woman & mother of 2 teenage daughters (they are of average weight). Just call me "southpaw". Where I live we measure in kilos, but I found a good calculator, so I can translate everything into pounds here.
I gained a massive amount of weight starting late 2004 due to certain situations where I just broke down and starting eating my emotions away. Over the past few years I've read not only calorie books but books on nutritional needs too. I went from 275lbs to my current 147lbs with plain old hard work, using my brain, a lot of saying no to myself, and exercising as best I could (I have osteoarthritis and it ain't easy!). My goal weight is roughly 130lbs.
I'm very glad to be here and am very proud of and happy for everyone here who is taking action to help themselves be healthier, feel better, and gain more self-confidence.
  • Hi SouthPaw!

THANK YOU for sharing this wonderful post and inspiration
Reading up on nutrition, and actually applying it to every day living is a huge lesson I take away from your message. Exactly what I needed to begin my day here and motivate me to keep doing what works.

And today, you've taken away another reason for me not to exercise.

    Many thanks and welcome!
    Jean
