Default Newbie here!

I'm not a newbie to forums, just 3FC. I'm excited I found a community that is still alive and floating!

Well, a little about me: My name is Amber. I'm 23 years old and I'm looking to lose about 40 pounds. I've struggled with BDD and EDNOS from as far back as I can remember. If it's not eating in one extreme of too little its eating in another extreme of eating too much. I'm a back and forth dieter for the last 3 years. One day I'm full of motivation and I'm sticking true and good for a whole week, and then slowly everything falls apart. I'm afraid to fall back into old habits, and figured if I go at this slowly and have support all around like in 3FC I might be able to get a hold on this healthy habits thing

Welcome to 3FC =)

Firstly, you'll find that most people around 3FC are just taking things one day at a time. Making healthier choices today than they were yesterday.

As you've found out on your own, motivation is great to have when it's around... but it's a fleeting feeling, and it doesn't stick around forever. What we have to decide to do is commit. We learn to do things both when we feel like it... AND when we don't feel like it. No matter how we feel beforehand, we never regret doing something healthy - even if we had to force ourselves to get up and just do it.

Support and encouragement helps immensely. That's why 3FC is so great. The members are helpful, are full of good ideas, and we really want to see EVERYONE succeed.

You might find both the 20-somethings section, and the Chicks in Control area to be good places to start. The Chicks in Control section is for those who are or who have struggled with ED, and are aiming to healthfully take back the control.

Best wishes! And I hope to see you around the boards!

I do have a question after checking out some of the spaces you told me to (thank you very much by the way!) Is there any specific rules or a place to post accountability? I was part of a forum a few years ago that got disbanded and shut down eventually, but I always liked that there was a seperate place to post it. Kind of like a diary but just what you did that day written down. I thought it helped a lot!
