Hi, Newbie here. Reading post and responses on this site makes me feel like this is the place for me.

I’m here because I need to lose 60lbs because of health issues. My doctor tells me that my issues are because of my weight, but I say it is causing the pounds to pile on. Either way eliminating the fat is going to be a major challenge for me.
I welcome any advice and support anybody has to offer.
My primary physician has me on a fast track 12 week weight loss plan/program. He wants me to lose 3.33lbs a week… I am fully aware that losing weight that fast is not good and the chance of gaining it right back plus more is high. The goal at the end of the program is to be lighter and my body will be able to move properly allowing me to be more mobile to exercise and also learn portion control so I can maintain a healthier me. I started his plan on April 1, 2011 and was down 8 pounds when I weighed myself last. I go tomorrow for an official weight check and to make sure I’m losing fat and not muscle.
This is my first attempt to “really” lose weight and change my lifestyle.… Yes, I’ve done the quick fad diets and over the counter pills here and there to lose a few “quick” pounds for events or vacations but never looking for a long term solution.
Now is the time!!!!! I’m a firm believer that support = success……
