Default Weekly Chat - 28/3-3/4

Hi all,

I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes starting this, but see weekly chats popping up all over the place, so thought why not have one here?!

What's everyone got planned for this week, both weight loss and otherwise?

For me, this is my second to last week in Thailand, two weeks tomorrow until I fly home, so I really really want to work extra hard to be looking and feeling as good as I can be by the time I step off that plane!

I'm finally teaching again (an afternoon summer project) after a month of office time, which has been really boring and made snacking so tempting, so that's a relief. I've got a leaving meal on Weds and then an all you can eat Japanese buffet meal on Sunday, and my last Saturday night here so I can't get out of going out, so, I'm being realistic and know I can't possible have a fully on plan week. But, I'm also being super strict the rest of the time, if I want my treats, I've gotta earn them!

Been on plan today, and just did a 45 min workout. Given myself a challenge of 10 hours exercise in the next two weeks, as I got far too lazy over the last two weeks. I'm starting work half an hour later for the next couple of weeks, so gonna try doing a 20 min 'wake up' cardio workout in the morning before work, not sure if it'll take off or not though!

Hope everyone has a good week

I think it's a fab idea and hark at you getting up early to do extra exercise.

Well since I got back from Ireland I've eaten like a piggie, i've felt very unwell became very breathless, something that has never ever happened to me, so got checked out by the emergency doctor at a walk in centre on Saturday, she was a bit concerned because of the fact i've had a recent flight querying a DVT but thank god I am fine it was just because I have caught a bad cold and have some kind of nasty viral thing going on, I'm usually as healthy as can be.

Anyway today I've been a healthy girl havent weighed myself since I got back from Ireland but have decided to do it FRiday, although by then I may have a period so I shall be a bloated old thing yuk.

Havent been able to exercise but plan some walking from tomorrow then as soon as I feel completely well back to running.

Take good care slim chicks

Michele x

Default silly Yank

Okay; I'm just going to show myself as the silly Yank I am by sharing something. When I saw this group my thought was: oh, wow! There's a forum here just for University of Kentucky (UK) fans! Awesome! Go ahead and laugh. You just have to understand that the US is in the middle of March Madness college basketball playoffs. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Good luck in your journey from your silly Yankee friend!

Ahhh Missmc it was very scary I thank god I am ok.

Had a great time in Ireland thanks, landed in Kerry St Patricks Day and came back the following Monday night, caught up with my family and friends. My father was from Kerry, sadly he passed away New Years Day 2009 he was only 66, at the time my heart was broke and I still miss him madly and not a day goes past when I don't mention him, but I always try and think how annoyed he would be if I was moping around. We were in Ireland together just a few weeks before he died and I kind of knew in my heart he wouldn't go home again. Blimey I've got awful maudlin thats my paddy blood for you.

Anyway Miss well done on that pound and I love guinea pigs.

Fidget feel free to pop in and chat anytime

Hi all, from a COLD Thailand, what's going on with world weather??

Michele SO sorry to hear about your dad, but really good to know you made that last trip to Ireland together. I hope you're feeling fully better soon and good luck for your weigh in.

MissSMcC I'm really looking forward to going home, and staying there for a while for the first time in over 5 years. Just dreading not going crazy for all the foods I've missed! Awww at the guinea pigs, I used to keep them as a kid, they're great! Hope your week is going well so far!

Marie Hope you have a big whoosh soon, sounds like you really deserve one! N hope you're body's back in clock sink again soon

Well, I've had a pretty op today, I'm happy. yogurt, special k n banana for brekkie, a veggie squid n glass noodle dish for lunch (one of the healthiest options available, although not great :/) n 'Indian beans' jacket spud for dinner. With four pieces of Sushi as a snack after school to get me through my hour killer workout. Only drank water n three cups of black sugarless coffee, so I'm happy

Still holding out on hearing if I have to go out for a meal or not tomorrow night, I can't really deal with it if I'm honest! It'd be nice to say bye to the old colleagues I'm meant to be eating, but I just don't want a big n naughty meal. N here the culture is to always order lots n share, n if I'm out, there's no way I'll have the resolve to not eat a load, it's abstinence or nothing for me at the moment!

Oh, n I failed on the exercise in the morning, was way too cozy in my bed, hence the extra hard workout I pushed myself through tonight! If i'm not too sore in the morning, then I'm gonna give it another go, but not holding my breath!

Have a good day everyone

Taking control, I hope you wern`t to sore this morning?

We are going out for mothers day (other half mum) and they have a set menu argh, but dont know what it is argh, the pub doesn't have a website, so cant check it out. Don't want to seem really fussy by asking!! Hoping its only 2 courses. So am thinking if they have soup, or melon for starter and meat and veggie dish, if they do it!!!

Hope everyone has a good day xxxxx

Hey Miche!

Glad you are still on here.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Mine died last June, suddenly, so nearly a year ago. Mumis now alone and not very mobile although my brother and his family are about 20 minutes away and my Aunt is nearby too. Mum can get about indoors with the aid of a trolley and goes shopping with my SIL in a wheelchair.

I had a horrid thought (nasty daughter!!) that I might have to move to Hampshire to look after her but mum put me straight on that! She said we would kill each other!!!

The awful thing was - on the |Saturday it happend, my SIL tried to ring me but it came up with private number so I ignored it. Then when she texted me and I tried to ring back I could not get hold of her. I thought she was just going to ask when I was coming down or something. Then I rang my mum and she told me what had happend - in a very small voice. Luckily she was surrounded by my aunt, brother's family and my other aunt and uncle.

We haven't really greived a lot - just at odd moments. I often want to tell him about a book I have been reading or discuss something from a paper. Can't really do that with mum

Topsy81 I was well sore on Weds morning, and basically the morning exercise idea has fallen on it's a**e!!! Maybe give it another go in the UK, but for now, it's a no no!
I hope you have a good day on Sunday, and that the set menu is kind to you, don't be too hard on yourself n enjoy it

Peacock Princess I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, but don't beat yourself up about missing your sisters call, you weren't to know. I'm glad your mum is doing ok and has your aunt to help her out. It's great to know that you're both on the same wavelength re you moving to be closer, must be a huge relief!

A good week here, went out for a leaving meal last night, tried to make good eating habits, which isn't easy, but, I didn't do terribly that's for sure! It was lovely, especially all the compliments on my weight loss, finally brought it home that I am making good progress, yippee!

Trying to have a super OP Friday and Saturday, before another meal out on Sunday. TOM just around the corner, so that's gonna make it even harder to shed any pounds this week. So, I'm gonna have to be boring and stubborn and stay in on Saturday, which isn't going to go down well with my friends here, but we'll see who wins the battle of wills! This leaving lark isn't good for weight loss!

I hope everyone's having a good week

Princess I am sorry to hear about your dad, it is still early days for you Ahhhh don't think about that missed call thats how it happens sometimes, it's out of our hands. I ate myself back up to this weight, I had got to 9 stone 4lbs but the day we buried him I started eating and eating and havent really stopped. Hence I find myself at just under 12 stone, although I was once over 15 so I didn't gain it all back!!

Topsy hope you had a lovely meal.

Thanks for your kind words girls when I went on about my father.

I've been quite healthy all week considering I havent felt that well, I am feeling much better now. Should get on the scales tomorrow.

I am a vegetarian by the way.

Enjoy your evening

Anyway it's al systems go, I'm going out shortly three of us at work have the same day off so we are meeting another friend who is on maternity leave for some lunch. I shall try to make a healthy choice slim chicks.
