Default Restarting my weight loss journey!

After just over a year of medical problems and still attempting to get back to a normal routine, I took the first step today. We had already planned on going to In & Out Burger (my favorite) and I did something that shocked my husband! Instead of ordering my usual Double Double with Cheese, I decided to order a Cheeseburger (one patty) w/onion Protein Style! I had them substitute ketchup and mustard in place of the "sauce" which has mayo.

While we waited my husband was making all these comments while we waited like, "I can't wait to see this!" and so on.

When it was ready, I admit it looked weird without a bun. But I know I saved calories and carbs and best of all? IT WAS REALLY GOOD! I told my husband I would be ordering it that way from now on!

Marie

Way to go!
I've also realized that "health foods" are not so bad.

Do you know what I do? I used to order mine without the bun and felt like a huge misfit (I'm really shy and socially anxious anyway) now I order my mcdouble, no ketchup(sugar) and then keep repositioning the patty or pushing it forward so I don't eat any of the bun. Then as soon as I'm done the meat I squish the buns into a starchy glob so I'm not tempted to rip pieces off and eat them. I have also heard people pouring tons of salt on it to make it inedible.. In any case when you do the reposition or push method, no one can tell ESP if you eat it still in the wrapper.

Mcdouble no ketchup no bun plus side Caesar no croutons= one healthy fast food lunch! When you have to eat fast food that is.

Way to go!! That has since become my standard order at In N Out on the rare occasion that DH and I go there for a bite - Although I get a Two by One protein style, with extra servings of BOTH kinds of onions, and mustard only. I was really shy at first to order it without the bun but then I realized just how much better it tastes protein style - you can actually really ENJOY the patties rather than have them overpowered by the bread!

That's great! The burger probably tasted better that way too, didn't it? Anyhow, way to go and keep it up.
