Dear vickster:
Welcome! I was a new girl here just a few weeks ago. My daughters are grown now. I am concentrating on health-meaning that I cut out most of the "junk foods" and I am losing my initial 20 pound goal very quickly due to that!

My younger daughter shed another 50 lbs over the last year by following the highly Sensitive diet from a website called "The Captain's Lady". It does ask you to limit processed foods but she is just 24 pounds from the high end of her normal weight range. She then switched to a hypoglycemic diet which she says is mainly the same but is easier to follow, allowing a few more proteins.
Another great one is the DASH diet, which is for hypertense folk but still a good diet to lose on. Try to make it a lifestyle change and it will go easier and be easier to maintain. It took me years of "dieting" and a nutrition course to figure it all out!
Best wishes from PA, stateside
Tamsin

Welcome Vickster, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
