make a workout in my backyard

  • i'm about average height, for a girl/woman, so it's about 80 steps long, about 40 steps wide. great for a football 'field' for the kids. very flat. some trees, but they are mostly on the border. info about our family- kids 6,7 and 10. dad can do sports. mostly, i was looking for ideas for me. stuff i can do by myself. but we'll do stuff as a family sometimes too.

ok what ideas do you have?

obstacle course- have a few tires set up out there now

    walking/running laps

sprints (although it's too muddy to do that today)

garden - there's a small garden, but we could put in another one, or make it bigger. not sure on that one. never had a garden before. definitely going to be gardening though.

raking leaves- right now almost every inch is covered in leaves lol. so...that's a w/o for days, for the whole family.

You're not kidding! I spent a measly 2 hours raking, piling, bagging leaves. Let me tell you, the constant bending over, standing up, stuffing the bag, repeat REALLY did a number on the glutes/hammies. I was sore for days. Of course, the day after I did that, we got snow that stayed on the ground for a solid week (unusual for SC) and covered up all the evidence of that hard work but it is great exercise!

Do ya'll play soccer? Tag/flag football? Something to get all of you moving together might be fun.
  • i think the kids are interested in learning soccer. the boys are learning to throw the football around.
