Question Is there any way to make my arms look better with all this fat on them?

I'm going to be a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding at the end of May, and I know I'll still be far, far away from goal. I hope to be in the low 230s/high 220s. The dress is long and flowing, but it's strapless.

Is there any point in doing arm exercises when they're still going to be covered in fat? Is there any hope besides just using bronzer and hoping no one will look at me?

Of course there's a point in doing arm exercises! You'll tone the muscle under the fat, and as the fat comes off your arms will look more toned.

Bronzer and denial are not the way to go. So start doing those push ups!

You could ask her if you could wear a bolero like this...

Seagirl, I guess that's the wrong wording. I know there's a point to doing it, I guess I'm just wondering if it will make a visible difference.

JessLess, I bought a silver bolero like that, which I think will look cute with the pink dress, but I'm afraid "Look at those fat arms" is almost better than "Look at that girl trying to hide the fat arms." I don't want to stick out more than I have to.

By the way, I've never seen that site! I love it!

I'm in a wedding this June. It's not the biggest reason I actually stuck with the weight loss this time around, but it was definitely a motivating factor.

I completely hear you on the arms! My arms have always been horrible - fat, of course, but I have very bad stretch marks that still look awful, even though they're the faded silvery color they get when they're old.

I've been using hand weights and body weight exercises since last March. I realize it's not the same as lifting heavy, but I have noticed some differences. My shoulders and upper back are starting to look good.

My arms are still a disappointment. I have pretty good biceps and triceps (for me), I think - unfortunately they are still covered in some fat and lots of mushy skin. But I'm still glad I've been working out!

IMO, yeah, you might stand out more wearing the jacket, if you're the only one. But if it makes you more comfortable than do that. Although, in general, I don't think our flaws are as noticeable to others as they are to ourselves.

(Of course, I'm personally still praying that my friend doesn't pick out sleeveless dresses for her wedding! )
