Hey everybody!
A long time ago (after my husband and I first seperated) I asked about being plus size and dating. Had anyone dated as a plus size person? Etc... Later I brought it up again since I was thinking there was a guy at work who seemed "interested". Well guess what??
After lots and lots of him just stopping by to say hi or something small like that he told me today he thought I was pretty and he'd like to go out with me sometime if I was ok with that! I thought I would have a panic attack You see, I met my husband when I was 18 and we dated forever before getting engaged and then married so I havent dated in a million years it seems. (I am now 34). You guys were so encouraging then saying you thought he was interested by what I told you, and I guess you were right!
Anyway, that's the update. I am on cloud 9 right now feeling like I am 16 again. Talk about some good diet inspiration. I have been really on track tpday and really not even eating enough calorie wise. Can you believe it?
Ok that's it. Any dating advice would be appreciated too or any comments in general!
laura
That's super, Laura! I'm not sure I have any sage advice, having not dated since. . . . . ? Well, can't even remember! I would say keep things light, fun, and casual at first. . .just take things at face value, enjoy getting to know him, and enjoy the wonderful art of conversation (maybe over coffee in a cute little coffee shop?)
And always remember that God created you as a treasure and you have MANY gifts to offer! Best wishes!!!
that's awesome! i've always felt like a sore thumb in the dating field, always being overweight, but then... i found a wonderful guy whoi is supporting me in my weight loss, but loves me no matter what.
lorelei...
my best advice for you is to not jump into bed with him! LOL Take it slow, let him court you
This is wonderful news! Some say that nothing feels as good as feeling thin, but the truth is nothing feels as good as being in love!.. or lust, for that matter.
You guys are too funny! I like the idea of taking it slow and getting to know him too. It seems like you all can relate though and I appreciate that! It's a whole new world out there, kinda scary and fun at the same time though.
woohoo I'm so glad to hear that you will be dating again.
I agree with the others to remember to take it slow (of course this comes from the one who met her hubby in dec., moved in in march, found out she was preggo in april and is due anyday now with baby
Good luck and let us know how the first date goes!!!! (At least I can say we didn't even kiss on the first date!)
Dawnyal
Thanks again you guys, I appreciate your encouragement! Dawnyal-wow! You guys really went fast! I guess when you know it's right you just know it! I know we won't because I am a wee bit gun shy if you know what I mean! It was so easy to get married but the divorce seems to take forever. Atleast it does in VA. You have to prove you have been seperated an entire year if you have kids together before you can file for divorce! We filed in October and still havent gotten the papers back yet. My lawyer said maybe by the end of the year! I will be free in 2003!
Oh-we havent actually set up a date yet. But when it happens I will let you all know. You are a kind of surrogate family for me. My real family is great but it's also good to have support of those who have walked in your shoes too!
hey guys!
I thought I would let you know we have decided to get together on Tuesday for our first "date". I was thinking for sure it would be after Christmas. I know nobody really cares but me, but I thought I would share with you all since you have been clued in along the way! Can you believe I have lost 12 pounds since we have started talking two weeks ago? How about that?
Congrats on the weight loss, that will make you feel a million dollars. Have a great night , your only 34 have some fun and don't even worry about being plus size, it shouldn't make any difference and you can bet it doesn't to him. good luck!
