I'm a 32yo SAHM of 3 babies and I'm tired of being fat! I gave birth to three babies in 13 months, and while it might be nice to blame my obesity on my pregnancies, the truth is that I've been overweight most of my life.
I struggled with PCOS and infertility most of my adult life, and DH and I were finally blessed with twin boys in February 2009. In March 2010 our "surprise" (I don't like to use the word "accident"!) baby girl arrived. It was quite a change to go from longing to have a child to having three of my very own in such a short time.
I finally feel that it is time to overcome complacency and get rid of this excess weight. I might never be skinny but I don't want to live the rest of my life this heavy. I want people to quit wondering what my hot, muscle-bound husband sees in me. I want to plan a vacation without worrying about fitting in a coach seat without having to ask for the seatbelt extender!
DH and I are planning a tropical vacation in May, and I'm anxious to see results! I've started a rapid weight loss program that includes a low-cal diet. I fully realize that this isn't the best long-term solution, but I'll worry about that after losing this initial weight.
Welcome! I, too, joined today and LOVE the support that ive gotten already. This is the first time that ive taken weight loss seriously and i had NO IDEA how much of an emotional rollercoaster it would be. Its good to have a place where u can get advice and support. Especially from people who are having similar struggles.
Good luck with your goals! We have some things in common. I'm also a SAHM to an 8 month old girl and am working on losing weight to have another healthy pregnancy sometime after DD turns 1. And we're going to Hawaii in May and I am (hoping) to be back to wedding weight by then. I know you must be so busy with 3 babies (and TWINS at that!) but hopefully you can get some exercise in too. You can do this!
I am also just joining, however i've been working out for about 2 weeks - 5 days a week. I'm extremely frustrated right now because in my first week I lost 7lbs and now i'm up 3lbs. I just keep reading things that say exercise doesn't really do much, just changing your diet does, so I feel like I am wasting time. I recently quit drinking any type of soda and now drink only water, juice and milk. I thought that would be a big help, but so far, not at all. Anyway I'm going to Southern California in April and was really hoping for 20lbs lost..I could use and advice and support I can get.
Thanks, everyone. I've been having a rough time. Being home with my babies all day, I don't have a real meal schedule (not for me, anyway, they get their meals right on time!) I just (over)eat when I'm hungry. I'm craving carbs! It WILL get better, right?
Hiya, im a SAHM too. 26month old toddler and an 11wk old baby. wow, you must have your hands full with your three little blessings! this site is awsome, youll find all the support and help you need.
llamallady - welcome! What a busy gal you must be with three small children. I hope you find a way to set up a meal schedule for yourself - it will really help you stay focused. Could you maybe make some meals up ahead of time so that a healthy choice will be ready for you when get the chance to grab a bite?
redsox - keep up the exercise. Muscle is heavier than fat which might explain your weight gain... on the other hand, muscle tissue is much more effective in burning fat off. Be patient and keep it up - you'll probably find you have lost inches, if not pounds.
Hey Everyone! Welcome to this great site! As you have no doubt seen, there is a lot of great information. Feel free to look around and get involved! Best wishes with all your goals!
Hi, Im also a stay at home momma to 3. 3month, 2 1/2, and almost 4yr old. I was actually a nice size b4 kids then it took off when I got pg with number 1. I'm glad to see another mommy like me we can do this for our kids!!!!!! I want to be able to run around at the park with them have a blast and not be embarressed by my size!!! Good luck to you I wish you lots of luck you can do it!!
I just joined and read your post. I immediately went to the kitchen and told my husband that someone online had 3 babies in 13 months and we've spent the last 10 minutes talking about how terrible (in the nicest way!!) that sounds. OMG. I would be beyond overwhelmed.
We are using a surrogate to have twins and expect the birth to be in the early part of 2011. It seems overwhelming enough to have twins without actually giving birth to them, much less having a third.
Anyway, I'm totally cheering for you. You are an amazing woman to join this site and commit to weight loss. I honestly wish you the best and look forward to hearing about your progress.
I am a SAHM to a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old boy. I started gaining weight in high school when I stopped running track. Then my two little ones came along and my weight really blew up. But, like someone said...we can do this...for our children and ourselves!
