Default New meds and feeling sick

I have tried a few medications for depression and anxiety and have not had good results. I recently switched to Wellbutrin SR 150mg twice per day as I have heard great things about it. Well, today is the first day and I feel sick to my stomach. I mean its almost 5:00pm and I haven't eaten a single thing. I'm not sure what to think. My doctor did tell me that I will most likely lose weight (GREAT!!) because my appetite would be reduced but I never expected this.
Is it normal?
I also binge so I was hoping this would help.
Anyone have any input? Or experience with this medication?
Thanks!

I am also on the same dose of Wellbutrin SR. First off, if this is your first day I am curious if you are starting with 150 2x per day from the beginning, or if you are just taking 1 pill a day for the first few days to a week? I think ramping up the dosage is more common, at least that's what my doctor said. If you started at 300 total mg from day 1, that might make the initial side effects a bit worse.

I had a little bit of nausea at first, but mainly I just started noticing that I would feel satisfied after smaller amounts of food. I also had some binging type tendencies before starting it, and I haven't had any problems with that in months. I have had all sorts of delicious things around the house, and I have had no problems limiting myself to tiny quantities of chips and chocolates and things and have been having a very steady weight loss rate. It might just be a coincidence, but I certainly wouldn't mind attributing it to the drug.

On the rare days when it seems like the appetite / nausea issues are a little worse, I just kind of have to remind myself to eat. For me, what noticeable side effects I did experience really tapered off within the first couple weeks on the drug. I have been very happy with it so far, so I hope that your side effects clear out equally quickly and that it helps you feel better.

My grandmother has been on wellbutrin for YEARS! She does great on it and I've never heard her complain about any side effects (And she's a complainer, so everyone would know if there was something wrong, lol)

My doctor tried to pair me on Wellbutrin while I was on Lexapro- hoping to give me an added edge because I am drug resistant. Unfortunately, I was one of the few where Wellbutrin basically did the opposite than the desired effect. I became very angry, aggressive and even more self destructive than usual. He pulled me off after two weeks. But I don't recall becoming sick on it or not feeling like eating. (That would have been nice though.)

Good luck! I hope your stomach calms down. Have you tried ginger ale or ginger candy. Ginger candy really works great on nausea! I don't like the taste of ginger, but I've taken it several times while on boats and when I was pregnant- knocked the nausea right out of me!
