Hey Tia.

There are plenty of resources on this site for you to take advantage of. My susggestions are:

take it slow (this won't happen in a day)
make a plan (what are you willing to do to make this happen)
pick a diet (you must implement a healthy diet in order for this to work)
be active! (even if it's a simple 20 min walk -- work your way up)
have fun! (who said this is fun?! ME! Make it fun. There are ENDLESS ways of staying active, follow your inner crazy active person)

Good luck!!

Hi Tia your in the right place to find the encouragement and motivation to reach your goal. I would recommend keeping a journal. Record your weight and date it. Also take your measurements from your neck to your ankles- this will encourage you when you see those numbers go down even if the scale isn't that week.
Be sure to eat healthy balanced meals and snacks. Lots of fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, skim milk, eggs, etc. If you decide on counting calories please don't go below 1200 daily ~ it does more harm than good and can cause binging from excessive hunger.
There are lots of experienced successful people on this site that are here if you have any questions Happy New Year !
