I have noticed that not only are teens much more weight-conscious than we were but that they don't seem to have a good understanding of nutrition and think that starvation and "diet food" is the only way to lose weight.
It is great that you have come here so young....as many of us older and more experienced members can provide much better and healthier info and advice.
To begin with, you NEED to eat in order to lose weight consistently and be able to keep it off. And you NEED to eat enough to maintain your health. Destroying your health by starving yourself of nutrients is an unreasonable price to pay to be thin. You will realize this as you get older and realize the huge toll it can take on your body.
You need to learn how to eat and what to eat in order to lose weight in a healthy way and then to keep it off. You don't need your parents to buy you "diet food" necessarily. You just need real food and healthy food....and this includes a whole array of things, many that you probably already have at home. Most of what you need to do this is probably already available to you there. You just need to learn how to utilize them and HOW to do it successfully.
When I compare the thoughts I had as a teen to what I've learned and now realize...I just shake my head.
But it's not necessary to have unhappy teen years due to your weight. You CAN learn how to be successful the healthy way here.
