Default Broken foot :( exercise ideas???

I broke 2 bones in my foot playing soccer.... big guy's cleats vs. little bones in my foot... cleats won

It doesn't hurt too bad anymore, but doc says no sports/running for 6-8 weeks!

Anyone have ideas for me to still get some cardio in?

Be creative!!!

Thanks!!

You could try boxing or using a punching bag. That way you're just using your arms and not your feet, but you're still getting your heart rate up.

Do you have access to an arm bike? It's great cardio! Good luck with healing!

whats going to happen to youif you cant get cardio in for a little bit?

That wasnt rhetorical-- really, whats going to happen to you if you cant do any cardio for a while? Are you afraid you are going to lose weight? Or worse-- gain it all back?

About 9 or 10 months ago, i CHOSE to take an extended break from any and ALL training, for about 6 weeks-- the purpose was to give my body a much needed training break, and aloow it to recover from the hardcore exercising, and hard core dieting down during the previous year.

I stayed VERY dilligent with my calories ( and in fact lowered them alittle)

and ended up losing more weight during that time period than id ever lost

You dont need exercise to lose fat.

Thanks for your ideas and kind words.

mkroyer - you might be right, taking a break from full-body exercise could end up being really good for my body. But I have never done well by trying to keep track of calories, or sticking to any kind of diet. For me, i lose weight best by just trying to make healthy food choices wherever possible. but if i have a chocolate craving, i dont say no to it, because i know eventually that could lead to a binge. I just work out extra at the gym to make up for it

That's why getting injured is especially difficult, but i'm gonna try to make the best of it. I appreciate everyone's support!!!

I think i'm going to try to do boxing for cardio and work on improving my upper body strength. i can still do (girly) pushups and lots and lots of crunches!!!
