Thumbs down Thanksgiving Challenge. What is your mini goal?

Happy November girls! (and any guys that may be lurking)

We just completed our Halloween mini-goal/challenge! Some of us more successfully than others!

The next two months are difficult for us all and we should have some kind of plan to get us through it. Even if your plan is to come out on November 30th with MAINTAINING your current weight! That would be a winner for many of us. OR...set a mini-goal and work hard these first 3 weeks, so that we can enjoy our Thanksgiving meal and STILL come out with a loss at the end of the month. Wouldn't that be the greatest??

And there are some of us ambitious people who will strive to lose weight all four weeks of November. We salute YOU!!!!

So what is it? What is your plan for the month of November? What do you want for yourself? What is your goal? It is OK to simply hope to maintain this month, it is also ok to shoot for a loss!

Post your plan here and check in once a week to let us know how you are coming along in your challenge/mini-goal...

For myself...I am sitting here today, November 3rd at 232. Tuesdays are my weigh-ins at home. I will post my weight every Tuesday throughout the month.

My mini-goal for this month is to get to 225. That is 7 pounds in 4 weeks. I am pretty sure when I weigh on Tuesday I will be at 230, (that is what it said this morning when I cheated and scale hopped) So, I think that will be do-able. But I need to work for it.

Hope to see you all here for this months challenge.
Tiffany
NOW GET TO IT!!!!

Smile I'm there right behind you Tiffany....

I second the motion for everything Tiffany said...November is the month my success with weight loss slows and then by cookie baking time in December I am so screwed ....and will continually eat myslef into delirium through to New Year's Day.

My goals are to lose 6 pounds this month and get down to 253.

- 60 oz. water every day

- walking 3-4 times

- Exercise tape 3-4 times a week (it's aerobic and weights combined), gave up the gym as they doubled their fee to $500, besides you all seem to be doing great with the tapes.

- Keep food between 1600-1900 calories a day

- Fat:20%, Carbs:40%, Protein:40%

I know if I can talk to all of you I will succeed; as I have said before knowing you all through the threads has made all the difference

Ood Luck and I love you guys...we will succeed and together nothing or no one can stop us!!!!!!!!!

Just a reminder that this is not the 3 point challenge, just another mini-goal....for those of you that want to do the 3 point challenge, I will leave that up to someone else to start that thread! I simply can't be trusted to post my daily points.

Now, THIS, I can do. Once a week, checking in and posting updates, etc.

Good to see you here DNW, good luck on this mini-goal!

Tiffany

Hello, my name is Erin. I have been part of the LA Weightloss forum, but we have now merged to this forum so I thought I'd try to keep up to date on a few more threads and keep myself on top of this weightloss thing! I currently have been a member of LA since September 3 and I have lost 19.5 pounds! I am so happy with the program. One of the gals in our other program always sets mini goals and I think that is great. I want to join you.

My Novermber 30 Mini-goal: 163 ( an 8 pound loss)

Let's do it Ladies!!!

Not sure what to think. I'm back up to 273 as of this morning! A 9 pound gain from 2 weeks go. I would love to get this 9 pounds off, but am looking at the calendar and don't see it happening. I surely don't want to maintain this weight gain, I want to be at 263, but that is being unrealistic. TOM starts this weeks (and there is always a gain there), then the following week I have my gall bladder removed, the next week I leave for vacation (to Utah), then the next week is (Thanksgiving), with all that said.....I'm going to say my mini-goal is to NOT gain and take whatever losses I can! Planning to find out about lifting weights after my surgery.....how long I need to wait, etc..... That also goes for cardio.

Good Morning, and count me in. I'm shooting for four pounds and If I don't, all of you can come to Thanksgiving dinner at my house! You know I can't cook and hate to clean, so you know I'll do it.

My slacks are tight, tight in the waist this morning so no better time to start than right now.

OK, I got back on the wagon on October 27th. I'm tickled to report I'm down 4.6 pounds since then! Lots of water weight I'm sure but I'll take it. So my Thanksgiving goal...

Lose the rest of the 10 lbs. I set as my goal back then. 5.2 lbs. in 3-1/2 weeks? I can do that, right?

Water - at least half a gallon a day. I usually do more as long as I've got my trusty water bottle by my side. And the trusty ladies' room within sprinting distance.

Exercise - I should be allowed to go to the gym once I get the OK from the doc. on Thursday. Then it's gym day at least twice a week. On the days in between, it's treadmill (at least 10 minutes in the morning to start the day) and videos and my exercise ball every evening. No more of this "I only have 15 minutes so I'm not going to bother" attitude.

Whew! I'm thinking that's plenty....

P.S. Welcome Erin! Congrats on the great loss so far!!

I want to join the Thanksgiving challenge too. I'm on LAWL, down 24 pounds so far since the beginning of September. I wanna make it down to 225 by Thanksgiving. That's around 6 pounds for me...but I can do it!

My Thanksgiving Challenge is...
~to see the 170's....179 would be fine!
~up water intake....it's slowed down with the cool weather
~cardio, cardio, cardio....I do weights a couple times a week, but tend to put off the cardio
~work harder on a balanced diet!

I'll post weigh-in on Mondays. Monday Funday!

I'm also on LAWL, and I've lost 33 lbs so far, but I've been stalled here for two months like a yo-yo. :b I've set my mini-goal for 150, a 6 # loss. I can't even imagine what that will feel/look like. I'd love to see a loss like that so I can justify eating normally (not pigging out... just sampling normal portions without guilt!!!) at Thanksgiving.

Good luck to everyone!!

Smile Ready for the Challenge

Hi Everyone!

I am on Richard Simmons program and I would love to get in on the mini goal challenge.

I will be brave and I am going to shoot for a loss of 10 pounds total for the month (that includes the couple I have already lost since Nov. 1). I am extremely obese and at the somewhat beginning of my weight loss journey to be a healthy weight so it is coming off a little quicker (water). I know once the initial 3-4 months is over it will be down to a steady and slow weight loss. So I would be cheating myself if I only set a goal for November of 4-5 pounds. I need something to really work for.

My other goal is for once to start the new year full fledge into my program and have already lost weight. I don't want to greet another New Year's like always in a weight loss depression. Not so much a focus on the weight but be already committed to my work outs every week, sticking to the foodmover etc...Because when I do that I feel GREAT and know that nothing can stop me.

So thank you for the challenge - I will be checking in often.

Kiki

I wrote to "angieME" because she wrote in her journal she had finally figured out how to put her picture in as an avatar. Thought you all might want to know.

She wrote:

I have Picture it in my computer. I saved a picture in my computer and opened it with Picture it and saved it as a web ready picture. Then I went to edit options and scrolled down to the bottom and clicked change avatar. It will take you to another page then you go to the bottom of that page and click browse and pick the picture out of your files. then press change avatar and it should work. I had bee trying for the longest time to do it but all my pics were to big. Last night I figured I would play around with the Picture It software and got it. Good Luck.

I'd like to join your Thanksgiving Challenge. Briefly put, I do not want to regain any weight. I lost over 45 lbs. in the year 2000, and have been "maintaining" for two years. I want to continue to "maintain."

"Maintaining" is difficult. There is no utimate goal to strive towards, just the day-to-day struggle to eat right and exercise. It becomes boring. I'll check in regularly. This morning my weight was the same old 150 lbs.

Good luck to everyone. Stick to what you have challenged yourself with. And keep smiling -

See what I get for saying I lost 10 lbs. Got onthe scale this morning and I was back up to 260...what the ?????????????

Haven't eaten anything ontoward, so I guess it must be that damn fat devil.....I hate him...so far today I have had only 792 calories, and I am starving, but we haven't gone out for dinner yet so I will eat shrimp and fruit and just a wee bit of lo mein from the buffet. Pray for me and as God is my witness I will never say anything about my weight again...or until I lose another 10 lbs...I think I jinxed myself.

Back down to where I was 2 weeks ago, 264 . I'd be thrilled to lose 4 pounds by Thanksgiving.

Ciao!
