Start here! So many inspirational stories and so much information. Find out what will work for you and what you can sustain. Do some type of activity or exercise! Good Luck!

You can do this! Come over to the south beach forum. I've lost 17lbs in 3wks.

maybe you should consider doing something other than atkins for a plan. I know some people, atkins is the only thing that works. My mom needs to eat carbs, but stay totally away from processed carbs as it causes binges.

For me, I've found it's not what I eat, but the amount I eat that works wonders. so keep on looking at your options.

I'm sure that atkins will work because I have done it before, my body gets into ketosis pretty fast and stays there. Plus I'm the kind of person that if I even eat a carb, I will want more... processed or not. While I'm doing the atkins, I'm going to learn how to eat, what to eat and how much to eat. I'm all about making this a lifestyle change.

Welcome!! Sounds like you have great goals! I think I agree with some of the other posts regarding the atkins diet. I honestly think depriving your body of anything isn't good and once you go off something like that you risk gaining the weight back. I would consider something like weigh watchers where you can eat what you want but it's all about choosing healthy (low point) foods and portions. I think weight watchers teaches you about eat healthy and it does work! Or simply counting calories! Just my opinion! Good luck on your journey!!!
