Default What are you wearing this fall?

So, normally in Fall I spend way too much money on fashionable pieces of clothing, since fall sweaters and dresses actually cover up the body and were the one season I felt like I fit in with everyone else (I could never rock strapless looks and whatnot until this summer). This fall, however, I'm not really looking to invest in clothing since all of my beautiful clothes are now too big and I'm not nearly done with my weight loss journey.

However, I do need some fall looks. I recently invested in these Boden wideleg cords in gray and tan (in size 10s! I used to be 16/18). http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Womens...leg-Cords.html Every curvy or plus size gal should have wide leg trousers -- the volume at the bottom and straight cut balance the body just right.

What are you wearing this fall? Why is it flattering on you?

i just got 2 pairs of black slacks from express (one skinny and one wide leg editors), a couple satin shells from f21 (surprisingly), grey high waist pencil skirt and a grey cardi from the gap.

i realized that i NEEDED new work togs for the school year. it was sort of fun and a little annoying to HAVE to shop for clothes, but yeah, i sort of like this high waisted look because it brings out the smallest part of my torso, but they are also not the most comfortable things to wear.

Watching What Not To Wear much?

I have tried, as per Stacy and Clinton's suggestion, to wear trousers and wide leg pants since I gained weight because of blah blah blah and making me slimmer and whatnot.

I'm 5'4''. Pants like that make me look like a minibar. Square. Short. Boxy.

Those aren't happening in my closet!! Instead what does happen in my closet are flared pants. I love them, they make my knees look slim, my but look curvy (which doesn't happen with straight trousers or skinny jeans, although I do have skinny jeans just because they are trendy and I like them, but I'm aware they're not the most flattering to my body shape or size). Flared dark jeans look amazing with heels, with flats, with sandals... I love them! So that's in the pant/jeans department (I wear dark jeans instead of trousers and lightly pre-washed jeans for more informal occasions).

When it comes to tops, I love jackets. I have many of them and I combine them for different looks. I have gabardine and corduroy jackets of different colors that go great with jeans and flats and a nice scarf. And I also love me some sweaters, cardigans, blouses, shirts, etc.

As a short woman, I second the anti-wide leg pants sentiment. They make me look like a baby elephant. I generally stick with dark straight leg jeans and pants, because any volume on my legs just makes me look bigger.

This fall I'm pretty excited about my fitted brown sweater vest that I'm going to wear over everything, especially my large collection of button-downs, all of which are now too big to wear alone. I also got a pair of black mid-calf lace up boots and a couple of short floral dresses to wear with tights and turtlenecks. In general I'm trying to keep the new acquisitions to a minimum until I'm done losing and only purchasing things that can fit over a range of sizes.
