Default Oh great now I've got flu!

Ive been dieting for a few weeks now, lost more than I expected to.
Now I have flu, my usual response would be sod it and eat whatever I fancy while I'm ill, I'm a terrible patient lol. Now I'm not sure what to do, should I continue with the diet and just lay off the exercise (I'd prob die if I got on my treadmill at the mo, I break out in a sweat walking to the bathroom ) or should I just take a break and relax my eating till I'm better? I really want to curl up with a thick milkshake to make my throat feel better but it's got horrific calories in and its not as if I'm moving round much at the mo. HELP!!

Sorry you're feeling so badly. I would advise trying to keep to healthy but easily digested foods, keeping in mind that when you eat badly you likely feel it afterwards (I know I do!). As far as something for the throat, I usually find just a small piece of fresh ginger infused as tea helps me (helps the tummy too!). Also, to replace electrolytes, I suggest coconut water (not milk, mind you!). It's nature's Gatorade. I used it when I was on chemo, and it was great.

Hang in there. This too shall pass

Thanks I'll try the Ginger (don't really like coconut) vie allowed myself my weekly treat today just to keep me going. Gonna try and stick with my calories but I'm not gonna beat myself up if I slip, it seems unhealthy food is easier to cook lol

How are you feeling? Are you getting better?

I had also a cold and experienced that the weight loss stopped during that time. I drank a lot of herbal tea, tried to keep warm and did not do any exercise to not make it even worse. Otherwise, I have been sticking to the diet.
I don't like the first two or three days of a cold at all: it's pure misery.
