I've been on maintenance for a while now but just wanted to wish everyone good luck for the coming month. Those monthly threads really helped my motivation during the last few months of dieting.

Good morning!

Taking you up on your invitation Cat and joining the thread- like you I'm feeling really motivated for September, always feels like a new start as it's a new school year, although it's been many years since I was at school!

I actually started counting calories and really hitting the gym in late July and lost about 12lbs in the first month but then went away to stay with family for 2 weeks, was really good for a few days then it all went out of the window and I've put 8 of those lbs back on. But at least I'm still 4lb less than I was rather than 8lbs more if I hadn't lost them to start with!

I weigh in on a Monday morning and am expecting a decent loss this week because of the gain last week. As I think I mentioned in the other thread I'm getting married in a year (well 1 year and 1 day now, eek ) and would love to lose 100lbs - that could be a bit ambitious but I suppose it's around 8lb a month so definitely doable. I'm starting out on 1400-1600 cals a day and 1 hour of cardio (with a few weights thrown in) 3-5 times a week.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. Hope you're both having a good week?

Hi Blodwen
Glad you joined us sounds like you've got it all worked out I didn't think that having a week off work would be hard but it is a little (like my husband keeps telling me i've got access to a fridge LOL ) mindless snacking does you no good i'm glad i'm journalling everything. Anyway i'm trying to be good today only had a couple of frozen pancakes and a little syrup for breakfast so not so bad. I had planned to throw myself into exercise and really get going this week but the weather changed over the weekend and I don't know why but i've been feeling a bit depressed its sunny today and i'm feeling more upbeat doing laundry then will do something might even go for a walk on the beach
Where are you hopeful? Have a Great Day Ladies

Hi girls,

Ah Cat, hope you're feeling better? Hopefully some sun and exercise will help. The weather forecast here was rain all week but yesterday was beautiful so I decided to do some laundry last night and hang it out - typically it has barely stopped raining since!

Being off work really makes a difference doesn't it? I like the routine of set mealtimes and only being able to eat what I have with me rather than the run of the cupboards. I find weekends a bit like that sometimes but find going to the gym helps if only to take up some time when I might otherwise snack!

Had a good day yesterday. Managed to nag my OH into going to the gym with me (I would go even if he didn't but I keep telling him it's pointless having a membership if he doesn't go). I think afterwards he was secretly pleased he went anyway Had a good workout, and the funny thing is that when we called in at the supermarket afterwards I saw a big layered salad (just lettuce, cabbage, carrot and pepper) and thought it looked really appertising! so I bought it. I had half with my dinner when I got in and have half for lunch today with my chicken sandwich. It's been a LONG time since I loved salad but maybe I'm getting back into it? Let's hope so!

Got an aqua aerobics class tonight so will attempt to get OH to do something while I'm there; twice in 2 days might be pushing it though!

Hope you both (or all if some other folks join us) have a good day

Hi Blodwen
Thanks I am feeling better today the sun is shining and guess what i've been doing? painting!!! all day!! I could have done that when it was raining but I decide to do it on a beautiful day Its over the stairs and i'm not good with heights so its slow going. God knows how i'm going to get the top bit I need to put some scaffold across but even with that there I won't be happy haven't done any exercise at all and I was going to work wonders this week oh well I must have burnt some cals shaking on that ladder I'm so impressed with you Blodwen you're doing so well. Ok i'd better get back to it.

Hi Cat,

Hope the painting is going well. I feel for you re. heights - I hate them too but couldn't imagine getting on scaffolding, you're braver than I am! I had to paint some woodwork high up on my stairs a few months ago but in the end just taped a brush to a broom handle and used that as couldn't face trying to do it any other way!

Did you manage to get out in the sun at all? It's done nothing but rain here so we just drove to the shops today. Yesterday and today have been rest days from the gym but we'll be going tomorrow (both of us-OH has already promised!) then weigh in on Monday so we'll se how it's gone this week. I've stayed around my calorie target, so fingers crossed.

Hope you're doing ok!

Hi Blodwen,
Weigh in i'm down to 192lbs so that is 6lbs down for the month. I can do the 10lbs this month better make sure I do after that statement LOL.
Cracked out laughing when I read your post because thats what I ended up doing, I tied the paintbrush to an extension pole hehe just couldn't climb on that scaffold it just didn't feel safe turned out well in the end so thats all that matters No I didn't get out in the sun it rained after that LOL and its been raining past couple of days too. Got lots of laundry, cleaning and painting to do so I won't be lost for something to do. Hope you are doing well.
Have a Great Weekend.

College started back and I have been a bad Loser

All apologies!

So here I am, back in the fold. I have a confession to make. We got 3 chickens, which means we get about 18 - 20 eggs a week. I only know one way to use up eggs..... CAKE!! So I have been baking a lot!

It's my birthday today and when I have 12 eggs I shall be making a German tree cake, lots of pistachios, rum and chocolate - it is hugely calorific but I shall make sure the office stick insects eat most of it

Weighing in, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, let me attack the calculator...

... 214 lbs today! How did that happen. No gain!!

I think I shall try to lose 3lbs over the next week and a bit and I shall re-calculate my Onederland date!!

Actually I may leave the Onederland date and use it to get me back on to the timeline I started! Hard line or what??
Good luck all!
