Default 30 Somethings September Chat

September? Already!?

Time for school to start, leaves to turn color, and for me to commit to some PRE-Holiday pounds shedding!

I'm on track, so far, to my 10 Pounds by October 1st Challenge! I am drinking a ton of water and doing more weight training than before. I've hit on a breakfast that is quick, low cal, and lasts a long time in my tummy.

September = So far, so great!

YAY PIXIE!!! That's GREAT.

My little monkey goes back to school tomorrow... And wouldn't you know it? He woke up with a scratchy throat and sneezing this morning! I think he inherited my tendency to get a cold whenever the seasons change... I was hoping he wouldn't, cause they can get nasty.

Weigh-in for me this Saturday... I have a feeling I may not have lost any weight this month. The weather's just been crazy! One day it's sunny and melting me like I'm an ice cube and the next it's cold and raining so hard I feel the urge to build an ARK!!! Mother Nature, make up your mind!!!

I'm sitting here with no working water because the rental office shut it off to change the main valve on the water system for the trailer park... Problem is... They were supposed to shut it off this morning... And those MORONS went and shut it off at SEVEN PM LAST NIGHT!!! ARGH!!!

Hope everybody else has a better day than I've been having!

Goodness ladies, where in the world did August go so quickly.
I've done really good for the last couple of days and this morning was down to 233.2 (yay) but its still 5 days til my next "official" weigh in, so hopefully it will stay low, lol. My dear husband took me to Applebees for lunch today, and I would have done pretty well if I hadn't indulged in the spinach & artichoke dip. I am at 1600 cals for the day already, so I think I'll just have a small salad for dinner tonight (I probably wont be hungry after that big lunch anyways, lol)

Pixie: Good job! Keep up the good work

Matilda: I'd like to be firmly in the 220's by the end of this month as well. Come on girl, we CAN DO IT!!!

Rycher: Sorry your son is sick. Pretty much the same thing is going around here also.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day ttys

Great job, everyone!

I actually gained .4 this week. I'm gonna keep my same calorie goal for another week before I make any adjustments. I KNOW my body is changing because I just feel better and have more energy so I'm doing something right.

MP- What is this great breakfast??? I want to find something other than oatmeal that keeps me full and am on the lookout for suggestions.

I'm inspired! Keep up the amazing job, folks. I love reading your updates, am a newbie but have been lurking for a while.

I'm hoping to lose 12 this month. I have just finished my first week O' Lifestyle Changes, I'm still in the very beginning of my journey. I'm kinda sweating Labor Day a bit; we're traveling to see some family and it promises to be stressful and chockablock with food. Hopefully I can stay strong. At least the weather here is cooling off so my walks feel better without 100 degree heat.

I make eggs with 3 whites and 1 whole egg. Season however you like and scramble. I like to roll it up in a La Tortilla Factory High Fiber tortilla (80cal and 12g of fiber!!), or have two slices of Fiber One Bread and have it with a half banana or a cup of grapes.

Yay MP!!

The weather here has been crazy hot, we have had a official heat wave all this week. I think I am retaining most of the water I have been drinking but maybe I will see a small loss once it breaks. Right now we have to keep our eye out for hurricane Earl because we are right on the east coast here in Maine and it could get bad the last I heard. We have lots of pine trees around our house that really should be cut down so the threat of high winds scares me.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

The weather here is finally cooler! Sitting at the table with all the schoolbooks out and the computer fired up really FEELS like fall!!

I had a severe case of the "I don't wanna" when the alarm went off at 5:30 today. But I got up and did P90 Masters Sweat 5-6 anyhow. Lots of warm up and cool down - HR Monitor only clocked 300 burned. Boo. Taking tomorrow off exercise as I am running a 5K with my 18yo brother in a small town on Saturday. I'm excited, but nervous I won't be able to run the whole thing...my knee has been hurting even WITH the time off running.

The scale is being kind - read 171.6 today...right on track for my "10lbs by October 1st" challenge. How's everyone else doing?

WTG, MortonPixie!!! Good luck on Saturday, too.

My iPod died on me a minute and a half into W2D2 of C25K this morning. :-( I went for a brisk 20 minute walk since I was already up but was running an adrenaline because I was MAD it died. I charged it for a whole day yesterday- or at least I thought I did. My wall charger stops if a slow breeze comes through...

Lauralyn, you be careful! I hope it avoids you.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well . The scale is being kind to me this week, which I am SO grateful for! This morning it was down to 231.8! I know it has to be mostly water weight, but I'll take it, lol.
My car completely crapped out on me yesterday, so I have been an emotional wreck, and as a result have made some BAD food choices.. (I just had 3 frosted sugar cookies for "lunch" washed down w/ a 20 oz coke) I'm going to feed the rest of the cookies to the neighborhood kids when they get home here in a few minutes, lol. I did set up an appointment to start the weight loss program at the wellness center The trainer said they would work with me to set goals, and set up a workout plan and meal plan. I'm still shocked they are doing this for free. My appointment is for saturday morning, but I think I will reschedule it for a week day though..

leanne: I totally feel ya on the ipod thing. I forgot mine this morning and i barely made it 20 minutes w/o my music, lol. Time seems to go by much faster w/ music.

MP: Have fun w/ the 5k, and be careful too. Glad you are on track to make the 10lb goal!

JNA: :hi: Good luck reaching you 12 lb goal this month

Laura: Its been miserably hot here this week also. So bad they have been letting school out early every day this week, lol.

Well ladies, I have to get busy on this Probabily & Statistics homework. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Morning ladies.

My absence has been self-imposed due to school commitments. I'm also gaining a LOT of weight; it's up to 79.3kg from 78.6kg and I figure that since I didn't get to weigh in while I was away most of last week, it's probably a lot more than that!

It's my own fault really; I've relapsed. Big time. There, I said it. It's my fault that I have gained the weight. Now it's up to me, myself and I to get it back down.

So... I've deleted the my fitness pal account and started a new one: a new slate so to speak with new numbers and new goals. The big trip is 22 November. I won't reach another 10kg before then, but I will be able to lose a modest 5kg.

Good news is that I reached my black belt in karate! YAY!

Awesome to see a few new faces- Matilda and Leanne!

candian_Mom - I have those ultra hungry days every now and again. I try to fill up on protein and "good fats" - but heck - it doesn't always work.

Mollz - great idea on the clean slate for the account. I did that this time around. New screen name, new goals, new start!

Taking a day off exercise tomorrow - normally I take Saturday but I'm running (I hope) this Saturday. I don't have my early drop-off kid in the morning either, so I don't need to be ready until 7:45. Sleep 'til 7am if the 16mo old and the 3yo will....hoping...praying...please o please o please...!!

Happy Friday to Mollz over in NZ and a little early for the rest of ya.
