Thumbs up I'm new - Where do I start???!

Hi Everyone -

My Name is Diane and I am excited to be here!! I am 45 years old and I'd like to lose 75 pounds. Since I'm at square one, I am wondering if anyone has some good advice on the best way to start off.

Thanks!!!!

Hi and welcome to 3FC.

I suggest formulating a plan that fits your life and your lifestyle and sticking to it 150%. I am a calorie counter myself. You can read more on calorie counting and other eating plans here at the Diet central - http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/#diet-central

Good luck with your goals.

Hugs
Michelle

Welcome!

I second calorie counting, its a way of life, not just a diet. I am also a huge (no pun intended) fan of the South Beach Diet, also meant to be a lifestyle thing.

Onederchik, I second that your photos are amazing!!

Welcome, Diane! Can you tell us something about you and your life? (Are you running around after a toddler? Traveling a lot for work?) Different people have different weight loss/lifestyle challenges.

The plan that has been successful for me (three or four times, over the years!) has been to eat LOTS of fruits & veggies and little fat & sugar. I'm hoping I can stick with it, now, to lose to goal. But as someone said, what works for you will be what you can stick to.

Hi Mamadoll!

Thanks for the post.

I am an emotional eater and I have a loop playing in my mind saying I am so fat, I am so fat. I need to break that habit and replace it with something positive. I feel like I am wearing my negative feelings about myself under my skin. I hope by logging onto 3FC everyday will force me to be more in-tune with my poor diet/exercise traits and change them.

How about you? Do you have a strategy?
