Food that increases recovery? How do I increase recovery time?
OK so this week I have been exercising regularly. The last 2 days my production rate has slowed down mainly because I am tired and cannot push myself to do that one step more.
So I figured this is my body telling me to take a rest. I took 3 days rest and felt fine, fitter when I did my run on the 3rd day. However during those 3 days of resting I put on a few pounds. I did eat healthy during those three days but somehow put on pounds.
Now are there foods out there that I should be eating while resting? to increase recovery rate? Or do something to increase recovery rate? At this moment my body is tired and this is making me not exercise as I do not want to disturb the recovery rate.
My arms are burning like **** and this is stopping me doing weights. My knees hurt when I run.

Protein!!!!!! Your muscles need it to help recover faster and better.
I workout 6 days a week and I drink a protein shake after each workout, not all protein shakes are good for you though so be careful!
I use the only one on the market that is sugar free and only 1 carb. It is called ISO 100 and its fat free too! It actually tastes good too.
