Talking Hi there!! New on the boards : )

Hi! My name is Heather. I'm 32 years old and a single mother of 2 wonderful little girls. I have battled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I have lost weight in both healthy and unhealthy ways. I have recently recommitted myself to being as healthy as I can be for my children. My oldest daughter has cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound and requires constant lifting (she is almost 11 and weighs about 73 lbs). She is only getting bigger and I need to be in the best shape I can be in order to provide her with the care she needs. I am on day 6 of Level 1 of the 30 day shred and have already lost 3 lbs! I am on my way, but need as much support as I can get! I'm glad to have found this site and look forward to learning more about all of you!

Welcome. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.

Welcome! Is 30 day shred totally killer? I was thinking about it but I don't know if it would be too much too soon (mind you, I am also 20+ pounds more then you)

Welcome. And that is a marvelous workout and congrats on your success so far. Just great. It does sound like you have two fantastic reasons for doing this the healthy way. I have one fantastic reason and being able to keep up with her now is one of the greatest rewards of this.

Ashleigh, 30 Day Shred is pretty tough, but they do have one of the girls behind Jillian doing modified versions of most of the moves. I've found my endurance has come a long way just in the first 6 days, and I can get through most of Level 1 with no stopping. I think with any fitness DVD you just do what you can until you can do more
