Default New to exercise

After years of you-yo dieting I am, at 250lbs doing something about it. I'm eating sensibly and doing my first exercises since I left school... I am 60. My ankles knees and hips are dreadfully sore and I crawl around like an old lady. My family all say that weak joints run in our family. They don't. Its a tendancy to be overweight which runs in our family and the creaky joints are just a by-product.
I don't want to go at this like a bull at a gate and drop dead so at the moment I am walking a little more each day and doing knee exercises.
Hubby and I love to hill walk but for the last few months I have had so much trouble that we have stopped and I feel guilty. This is the best motivation I have ever had to do something about my weight.
Needless to say, my feet are as flat as pancakes... even when I was nursing and a UK size 12 dress my feet were flat! I'm told that for every pound one loses the stress on the hips knees and ankles reduces significantly so here goes

Good for you! Taking the first step is always the most difficult. I would suggest the "Walk Away the Pounds" videos from Leslie Sansone. These are simple, low impact walking workouts that are perfect to begin exercising with.

Thanks Kristi, I'm going straight on Amazon and play.com to see if I can order it.
