Question I don't sweat..

Sorry for all the posts, but they're all different topics and I didn't want to have them all in one thread.

Anyone else out there who doesn't seem to sweat at all? I usually notice it's the men sweating bullets (I haven't really seen any dripping women indoors at the gym - I'm not talking outside after a tough run in the heat or anything)..

I've read that more fit people sweat more.. and that it takes time for the body to actually perform at it's peak enough TO sweat.. What's up with that?

Basically people who are less fit sweat less and people who are more fit sweat more and more easily?

Can someone clear this up for me?

I've also heard that darker people sweat more.. I'm blonde haired and green eyed and fair skinned.. But maybe that's just some remnant of leftover racism. (Though I heard that it is fact that darker people produce more oil - which is a good thing as far as aging, so maybe the sweat thing isn't far off?)

hey there! i've certainly found as i get more active i sweat more. mostly my head, my ponytail is usually dripping after a good indoor workout. i am also very fair. I could be wrong but i think maybe men sweat in different areas (armpits) and for me it's the head, boobs and back.

I did 70min of cardio/weights circuit today, and I think I glowed a little all over. I never drip, leave puddles, or even soak my shirt. I've been exercising regularly since 2006, and while my workouts have gotten harder and harder, the sweating has never changed. I make sure I'm well hydrated, but mostly I just sweat from my scalp.

I'm fair, I don't drip puddles, but I sweat like crazy indoors at the gym. My hair gets wet, it drips down my chest, my back feels damp, and you can see the sweat on my tummy. It also looks like I peed my pants because my butt sweats.

It's not by any means pretty, but I think men and women both sweat, and I highly doubt the skin color or fitness level makes a difference. There are variations among all people, regardless of their skin color or fitness level (ie--some Latino people sweat, some don't, just the same as some white people have oily skin and some don't)

I do know someone who doesnt'; sweat at all, she's very fit and thin (fair skin) and just doesn't sweat, even when running outside in 100 degree +heat

I'm a very fair redhead. I sweat buckets, even when I'm walking. Most people who don't sweat at the gym aren't working hard enough.

My husband and I have had this debate for a while. He says sweat is a sign of a healthier, more efficient body. I think he's full of it. He sweats like a horse when he's doing anything work-wise that resembles a workout, and I'll drip sweat only when I'm actually working out.

He says he's in better shape, though his job is 80 percent sedentary and he never works out. I work out 45 minutes+ a day, five days a week, and I'm at a healthy weight. He isn't. I don't buy for two seconds he's physically in better shape than I am. No way.

I guess I do sweat but not like 'dripping wet' sweat. I do get the 'dewy' face and sticky shirt and pants so I guess there is some sweat going on.. I was just curious if it increases with fitness, but I guess maybe it's heredity? (It's 85 degrees and humid in here and I'm already feeling like I need a shower, lol.. Maybe just because the gym is nice and cool, I don't really notice it too much?)

I'm fair complected and I gush, drip, and ooze sweat when I work out. I soak through my tank tops and my hair is sopping wet when I'm done. I love it, but I wish I could be one of those people who works out and run errands afterwards.

I sweat like crazy, but I didnt use to. Now it hardly takes anything to get me sweaty. I was laughing because yesterday after some pretty hard cardio I went and finished up my Physical Therapy exercises, one of which has me lie down on a bench. When I got up you could read all the words on the back of my shirt imprinted in the sweat stain on the bench.

But I drip. And the fitter I get the more I sweat, yes. I now sweat to a point that is almost silly. I'll be dripping and I am not even working that hard. And I never used to be like that, I dont know what has changed. (And thank god it has, I used to have problems with NOT sweating and hot days and getting heat exhaustion.)

But also there is some level of un-fitness where you sweat for different reasons. I know some fairly fit people who dont sweat a whole lot, certainly not to the extent I do. I would say it is more of a curve.

When I was smaller around 128 -130lbs and I worked out, I would sweat buckets. Now that I weigh a lot more 170's I sweat but not like before. I am dark complected and I think that has nothing to do with sweating or not sweating.

I also notice I start to sweat more the more active I am. What I mean by that is when I start working out consistently I start to notice after a week or two I'm start sweating a lot more. I think you are fine, girls just don't sweat as much. Also my DH is Filipino and he sweats like crazy all the time...

I don't sweat alot,even when working out hard.I do sweat more then I did when I was younger.When I was younger,I didn't sweat at all,but my body would break out in red splotchy patches all over and I would be burning up.So I don't buy the whole,"you're not working out hard enough".I think everyone is just different.

I sweat (and I hate it thus my sig name) mostly on my head, bust, back and between my thighs (I'm being delicate with that last one) and I do get drippy to the point where my clothes get wet in those areas and I fling a little when I really get my arms moving sometimes (I know! eww!)

I don't think I am particularly fit since I am considered obese by my BMI so I think it is likely just that some people sweat more than others. Oh! I just thought of something. Did you ever take any medications for acne? Because my DH was on accutane as a teen and he says he doesn't sweat much since then.

I also don't think the level of sweat has much to do with your fitness level. I am a horrible sweater...I always have been. I could weigh 270 or 130 and still sweat like crazy. My sister on the other hand is in really great shape and barerly sweats at all. My mother is the same way. I hate that when I leave the gym it looks like I wet my pants because of all the sweat! I refuse to wear gray because it shows the sweat so much! And I don't think it has anything to do with complexion either because I am very pale with blue eyes and blonde hair. I do know that certain medications can cause you to sweat more than usual, that is part of my problem! I really wouldn't worry though...I just think everyones body is different!

I am very, very pale and I still seem to sweat when I run. But honestly, it's more when I STOP running that the sweating starts. Does anyone else get this?

Like yesterday, I went for a run in the 85 degree noon heat. I run a couple miles, feeling great, stop at a water fountain to drink. After 30 seconds of drinking, I am GUSHING sweat. The same thing happens at the gym. I will run on the treadmill, but it's after I get off it and start walking to the locker room that I start sweating the most. I do a cooldown, apparently not long enough? Even if I do this, I sweat the most during the cool down.

After that, I get super cold too. Like maybe an hour or so after I run, I will be freezing.
