Default P90X - Ordered Today!!!

Hey ladies, I finally bit the bullet, and ordered P90x today. After seeing the results that a friend of mine had on it, on top of getting really frustrated that I am losing NOTHING while eating right and jogging, etc. I figured I would try it. I am cleaning out a room in my basement so I have my own "space" to hide in and do this.
Looking for others on the program, starting out or anywhere in between!
Also wondering what the diet plan is like, and if anyone can give me a heads up on it. Can't wait to get this all started!

That's great! How funny I just finished watching the infomerical. I'm debating on ordering it because a friend of mine at work has another friend who said he would lend it to me since he's not using it but I don't when that will be exactly and I really don't want to be a pain in the neck by asking "when can I borrow it"? Plus I've had my eye on insanity so we'll see what happens.

Did you order the pull up bar too?

I've been thinking about trying it too, my concern is I heard it requires a pull up bar and I don't think I can install one in my house as we rent.

I'd like to hear how it goes for you

I have p90x & Insanity (hand me downs) and have been waiting for a new challenge to start up in the forum! If I had to choose, it'd be p90x because it's more comprehensive.

BUT, I love variety so 90 days of shelving all of my other vids seems a little much. Was thinking about a customized combo of p90x and Insanity to keep my interest. Wondering if anyone else has done this?

I did not order the pull up bar, because I broke my neck and my shoulder in two spots a little over 2 years ago and have almost zero strength in that direction. Maybe I will be able to work up to it, but that was a major concern for me as far as ordering this. I have been assured that the pull ups are a good part of it, but that it is still one of the best programs out there without the bar.

I have a friend that was an ex marine. He was pretty heavy and hadnt really worked out in years. Within 6 months time of P90X he lost over 70 lbs and looked better than when he was in the Marines. That was the seller for me.

I would LOVE to do a P90X challenge on here. Any ideas? I should be getting mine the end of the week. Might take a little longer due to the holiday.

GOOD LUCK!

I don't follow the diet plan, but basically I think decreasing carbs, decreasing fat, etc, but having carbs before the workout, and protein and chocolate milk after is what they suggest.

I'm on my 4th month. Now I do a workout a day plus 1 hour of walking/jogging after dinner. Results: hmmm, size 10 to a size 6 or so. I'm not at goal yet so I'm continuing this. I like it a lot. Again, I don't follow it exactly, and just pop in the video I feel like doing. I used to follow it for verbatim, but now can't find the time and/or mood to.

I modify the pull-up moves with either weights/soup cans or the bands. That's about it.

GOOD LUCK ONCE AGAIN!

I know I'm a litlle late on commenting, I haven't been around here for a while. I started P90X yesterday- today I feel like a truck ran over my inner elbow bits. :P Owwweee! I'm about to do day to.....so that tomorrow it feels like someone ran over my legs with a truck- haha! I'm excited to keep going and see my results, I've been really inspired by other peoples results. I'm not following the meal plan, I will be eating clean on my own.

Stepahine M- I bought the Iron Gym bar from Bed Bath and Beyond that works fine and it does not require any installation, screws, holes etc... It's a really great bar- so far.

Well done all on getting started with P90X....you are braver souls than I. For me it is P90, I'm about half way through. Next it will be the P90 Master Series, and thennnnnnnn. Who knows.

Again, congrats on jumping into P90X.

I just finished phase 1 of p90x. I've lost about 5lbs but I can feel a difference when I button my shorts/jeans, and I'm definitely seeing it in my arms. From what I've read/heard the physical results are much more noticeable by the end of phase 2.

I have the Iron Gym Pull Up Bar that attaches to the door, but the door frame where I'm staying this summer is no good. I had to order resistance bands instead. I bought mine from Amazon. It came with 5 different bands and a door attachment. Works just as well; I can feel it anyway, plus I can barely due a single pull up anyway. I'm excited to get the pull up bar back out in August for phase 3 when I'm home and see the progress.

As for eating, I've been doing Jenny Craig off and on for a bit. Basically stick to 1200-1500 calories a day. Anyways Good Luck!

I am so glad to see so many people that have done well on P90X! I am very impatient for mine to get here. Hoping to have it Monday so that I can start Tuesday. Now for those of you that have one already, is it the sort of thing that I should watch first? How much space do I need to do all of the exercises comfortably?
Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the tip! A lot of the people at my work have done well with this and I've always been interested. I don't know if my fitness level is there yet, but I like that because it will be a challenge and good for me.

I'll have to take a second look

I am on my second week of P90X. I have lost 5 pounds and gone from a size 16 to a 14. I don't have the pull up bar either. I just do the modified moves. I recommend it. I would suggest that you give yourself more time to stretch and warm up before the hard days, cardio, kenpo, etc. That way you don't pull anything and aren't sore later. Good luck!

I have done both P90X and Insanity and I now customize my workouts with both (until the new P90X workout come out) which have great benefits. Insanity is great for improving performance and getting in Cardio, I use the weight workouts from P90X to keep the strength! It has been very challenging and I am seeing even more results. Hope this is helpful and best wishes on your continued exercise routine. If you need any help, just let me know

I really wanna order that and Turbo Jam I just haven't got enough cash free'd up for it. SOON!!! Maybe it can be my reward when I reach 10%. I'm staying with my brother in a mobile home my mom was in. I'm afraid the doorway won't stand up to it. My brother said the same thing or he'd probably be interested in bulking up again and losing the 10-20 he's over right now.
