    to the July exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2009 the 300+ club broke our 2007 record and exercised for 216,854 minutes. I believe in 2010 we can break that record!! But it's going to take a lot of work from a lot of people to get it done! Please join us!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.

    Here are the running totals to date:

  • I'm bumping my goal up: 1500 min in July. I don't know if I will make it, but I do know that it will make me try harder!!
  • I'm in for July, gonna bump mine up to 1400 minutes.
  • Ok, I'm not giving up... I've decided I'm going to keep trying for 3K until I make it. End of story
  • Fell short of 800 last month so I'm going to try again this month
  • 60 minutes of serious house cleaning followed by 30 minutes exercise in the pool.

  • Sticking with 400 minutes again this month - I was just shy last month!

  • I really desire to push myself, because I know I can do it. My goal for this month is 1500 minutes

    Personal Goal: 110/1500

    Group Total - 100+110= 210
  • 80 min walking to and from dinner!

    Group total ~ 210 + 80 = 290 min
  • My goal for July is 500 minutes.
  • I didn't make my goal last month, but I'm upping it anyway because I know I can do better.

    Goal this month is 800 minutes of heart pumping exercise (not including the leisurely things)

    33 min (2 mile walk)

    GT: 290+33= 323
  • Walking on the treadmill! Might do more tonight!

    Group Total - 323+31= 354
  • I'm counting 20 min of my yardwork today. Not much of it was strenuous.

    Group total ~ 354 + 20 = 374 min
  • 60 min at the gym

    Group total ~354 + 60 = 414 min
  • 45 minutes in the pool.

    Personal Goal: 135/1400


    Group Total: 45 + 414 = 459
