Default New and a Little Nervous

Hi, my name is Krista... and I am horrible at introductions so forgive me if I ramble.
I've been overweight most of my life, and I have tried many times to lose weight. I've never really had support from people that understand being big though... I found this forum a while ago, but I've been trying to work up the courage to join.
I turned 20 today and decided I've had enough of being scared and trying to do this on my own. From what I've seen of this place everyone seems so sweet and wonderful and I really can't wait to be a part of this community if you'll have me.

So far, I've found this place to be very supportive and understanding...I'm sure you're going to find the exact same thing.

Where are you from in NC? I"ll be on a plane bound for Asheville/Leicester on Wednesday!!

Hey there,

Firstly you have a really pretty face. I've just joined today as well, I'm 10 years older than you but the same height and I'd like to lose about 94 lbs in 6 months starting on Monday. I don't know if I can do it on my own which is why I've joined this forum. I think if you hVe someone to keep in touch with then it makes it a little easier. So if you want to keep in touch that's fine. X

Welcome. Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a support group or challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.

Also new here. Registered today and hope to start on this "trip" starting Monday morning. Getting ready mentally to take on the challenge.

Would someone tell me how to get a graph for my posts so I might keep track of my own weight loss? I want to go from 199 pounds to 150. I may actually be a bit under 199 now but if so, it isn't a lot under. Used to be a size 8 but menopause hit and it seemed every time I had a hot flash I gained weight. (Couldn't be the food, right?)

I will check in Monday morning with a weigh-in. Hope this group will be the support I need to make it work.

Hi!

I'm new too and also a little nervous, but same as you I also don't have anyone to talk about weight loss and actually share stuff. Its a great thing that you want to do this being 20, I'm 25 and I really regret that I didn't force myself earlier- I hope to be thinner for the rest of my 20's
