Hello, I'm new here!
About three weeks ago, my parents gave me a motivational goal for weight loss: they bought me Celtic Woman tickets for a show on August 1st (this year), with the condition that I lose 10 pounds.
So far, I've lost about 6 pounds, so all's well, yeah?
I have no diet plan, as such. I prefer to follow the Julie Andrew's diet, ie: eat whatever you want, but in half portions, and no snacking allowed!
The "no snacking" part has become a habit for the past few months anyway, as my little brother was diagnosed with diabetes (type 1) and has been advised by his doctors to stick to three meals with no snacks, so that he can calculate his carbs better. So, none of us have been snacking, because he can't.
As for exercise, well: my mom and I walk twenty minutes after each meal, which adds up to a nice round hour of walking. Plus, I usually fit in at least a half hour of running, swimming, tennis or Zumba every day.
Plus, I have stretches. I have back stretches that my physical therapists gave me last fall, when I injured my back. (Which is where at least ten of the extra pounds came from: not being able to do anything for a month!)
I also have Denise Austin's Daily Dose of exercises from her "Jump Start" book that I do every morning immediately after I get up.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell someone my weight-loss goal in not face-to-face situation, because I get embarrassed in front of people.
So, 4 pounds to go to see Celtic Woman's show, and 14 pounds to go for my personal goal!
