Default Farmer's Market~AKA: Too Much of a Good Thing!!

Oh MY! I thought I had habituated my body to increased fiber. I am eating TONS every day. I thought nothing of buying 2 lbs of cherries, baby spinach, yummy sweet corn, sweet potatoes,a variety of lettuces. The prices were really reasonable and all were very fresh!

Yesterday was an almost entirely fruit and veggie day, with a little yogurt thrown in at breakfast and some cheese for a snack with my apple in the pm. I just had so much good produce I couldn't see where to fit in any meat, grains, etc.

I forgot that cherries were almost like a trigger food for me. They are sooooo good, I just kept eating them. I ate so many of them that my stomach began "rebelling" around 9 pm and continued until all of the offending fruit had passed my system. UGH! Not a way to get a restful nights sleep!! But looking on the bright side, my innards are fresh and clean now!

I don't know about anyone here but I work with a girl that takes two days off from work every quarter to "cleanse" and "detox"...she takes some magic potion and then can't leave the bathroom for days. She does this willingly!?! Holy Mackerel, all you'd need is a trip to the Farmer's Market and a bag of cherries!

Beware!!

LOL! Actually, the Farmers Market was how I began my weight loss journey at 278 pounds. ALl I did was go once a week and buy a ton of fruits and veggies. I felt like I HAD to eat them before they spoiled, and it was a LOT of food. No room for junk! I dropped a lot of weight that way (without the bathroom issues, lol... my body can tolerate just about anything!)

I thought mine could too. I went from eating almost no fiber in Dec of 09 to eating 40+ per day. I guess the extra just tipped the scales. It probably had a lot to do with the fructose and juice in the cherries, too. LOL
