Thanks for welcoming me!
@Thinknpretty: I know you are right, but it's difficult. I'm battling depression and anxiety, had to stop my therapy due to moving and right now it's difficult enough to focus on getting up in the morning and not hiding in bed all day...
@Joy2menu: Metabolic balance sounds like a great programme, I've looked into it as well, but right now I hardly have the cash to spend on healthy food, so there's no money left for books, let alone expensive programmes. I'll have to do this on my own.
Well, I've decided on what to do...
There's a programme which my doc recommended (not that I asked for it...) that basically recommends eating carbs only in the mornings, and then low-carb for lunch and dinner. One important rule is to always leave five hours without any food in between meals. I was quite successful with eating totally low-carb last year, but right now for some reason I look at yoghurt or similar in the morning and I decide to rather have nothing at all.

And I get really bad cravings for bread and muesli...
So now I can have bread, rolls, muesli in the morning, the only thing I need to figure out what to eat the muesli with, as you shouldn't have dairy in the morning... maybe I'll stick with bread then, with homemade jam or peanut butter. And some fresh fruit.
For lunch, as long as I'm still at home at least, I'll have some fresh fruit with yoghurt; or a salad with nuts and cheese and anything else I can think of; or some stir-fried veggies. I'm not a vegetarian, but I try to eat little meat due to ethical reasons. As my husband loves his meat though, I'm gonna compromise by eating vegetarian when he is not around, i.e. lunches.
For dinner there will be dishes with beans and lentils, and meat, and lots and lots of vegetables! I'm working on putting together ten dinners that are varied and healthy and easy to make, so that when I get back to work I'll have a list to work with, always know what to buy when shopping and always know what to cook in the evening, because when I get home and are exhausted and I don't know what to cook yet, I end up making unhealthy choices.
I'll take care to eat a lot of vegetables and fruit, and have lots of herbal tea in between meals. I love fruit, I love tea, so there shouldn't be too much trouble there. I drink enough water already, always have done (enough meaning a minimum of three liters a day, often more), so no obstacle there, either. (I sometimes curse that, though, as so many people seem to lose weight just by drinking more water...) I will not have Diet Coke anymore, as it's simply not good for my health. I will have alcohol (I know, total no-go, but I need my indulgences, otherwise I'll never stick to this) only once a week! If I want to bake something, I'll make muffins or similar to have for breakfast.
I very much appreciate any ideas and input!
And I have one question: I've seen the blogs, but I would feel far more comfortable documenting what I do in a forum thread... is there a forum for that which I just haven't seen, or do I have to do the blog thingy?
