Angry a quick me update

So yah. I'm around.

I'm plateauing. And it's not self induced... lol!

I'm sticking to 1500 calories (up from 1200) every single day with tons of whole filling healthy foods that I have been eating for 18 months.

I'm drinking all of my water.

I'm still walking/jogging, resistance training and a bit of free weights.

I'm showing dogs and running my daycare. I'm grooming collies and cleaning my house.

My weight this morning?

get ready for it...

198.2

and I so wish I was joking.

The last week went

Sunday: 199.4
Monday: 199.2
Tuesday: 198.8
Wednesday: 198.2
Thursday: 198.6
Friday: 199
Saturday: no weight (dog show)
Sunday: no weight (dog show)
Monday: 198.4
Tuesday: 198.6
Wednesday: 198.2

take the previous MONTH and it's a variation on that...

HELP!!!!!!

I can't give help but I can empathize and give sympathy. I believe that your plateau is not self induced. It sucks but it seems that most people (I know not all) have a plateau at one time or another. You and your body have done amazingly well losing weight and it seems to just need to take a break for awhile. Hang in there. Keep on doing what you are doing and it will break. It really will!

I am sorry to hear about your plateau. I agree with Cheryl, maybe your body just needs a chance to rest before starting to drop again.

Plateaus are so frustrating!!!!!

Oy, I feel your pain. Its true, eventually it passes. You will definitely have a "whoosh" in the next few days. It is hard to keep patience, but you just have to trust that you are doing the right thing.

I feel you.

For your workout routines, have you been changing them up? Like you are doing resistance training but have you changed your program recently? Are you doing intervals when you do walking/jogging?

I say tweak, tweak, tweak until your body decides to kick back into gear. Even tweaking the foods you are eating to see how that goes.

I agree with Nelie....maybe changing some little things up will help the scale to move!

*hugs*

Sorry to hear you are having a hard couple days... you will see the scale move again. As much as it sucks, sometimes you just have to wait it out. Is there anything little you can change up? Maybe shifting some calories around during the day---bigger breakfast, smaller dinner... something like that?

Oh my goodness, you know I'm always here to empathize about a good plateau! I've been sitting on a stall since April 12th. I MAY have lost two ounces finally today! LOL!

I have a bag of tricks...

Drink more water
Eat fewer calories
Eat more calories (what you're trying now as I recall)
Eat fewer carbs
Eat more protein
Change the exercise (this is a big one) Walk/jog intervals, increase the speed, the duration.
Try eating breakfast before a workout or after a workout depending on what you're doing now.

Other than that, just grab hold of that scale and hang on!! It's ridiculous, I know. Are you measuring? Using the old pant-ometer? My personal trainer told my husband the other day that some of us lose inches from the get-go and then switch to losing pounds and other are the opposites. Maybe you've lost a bunch of pounds and now it's time for the inches?

Hang tough! (As if you wouldn't. )

I'm sorry you've hit a wall. What's that annoying cheezy saying - the walls are just there so we can prove how bad we want it? See if you can find a rope and swing over. If you're running around a lot, that stress is going to stop things. But just don't beat yourself up - if only because I love reading your posts and really appreciate all you've written on the board!

I'm no fortune teller or anything, but I see a big *whoosh* in your very near future.

You keep sticking with this healthy lifestyle, creating that calorie deficit and the weight will have no choice but to come off.

If for nothing else, to feel as if you're taking a pro-active stance here and not just waiting around for something to happen, I too would change things up - remember your all veggie/fruit days? Or maybe cut back on the grains? Change up your physical activity. There are a ton of dance exercise videos I've been curious about. Buy a jump rope, a hula hoop.

I'm pulling for you and I look forward to the thread where you've busted through this plateau in a big way. It's coming, it's coming. Hang tough, tough lady.

I was kind of stuck before I increased my exercise now. Since started doing the couch to 5k the weight has came down a little. I am not sure what exercising you're doing, but maybe it's time to mix it up some?

Hang in there! I know you will be back to losing soon.

Oh, man. Tammy, that stinks! I would be so incredibly aggravated. I have no advice, but I've heard that High Intensity Interval workouts can help. Maybe a C25K program or something like that? Hang tough, girlfriend.
