Default Finally decided to start losing weight for real

Hello everyone! I stumbled across this site while searching for a body fat measuring formula.

I've been overweight almost all my life- actually since I was 3, when I started ballooning up suddenly, and my weight has been fluctuating ever since.

I'm 22, going on 23 end of this year, and intend to eventually reach my goal of 25% body fat and weighing between 80-90 kg.

I'm naturally muscularly built, and I guess my body shape's a ruler- I tend to put on weight evenly through out my body, though, because of my depression when my weight went up even more, I started putting more fat around my middle. It's currently (slightly) bigger than my hips.

My ideal body type would be like Serena or Venus Williams- though I do not possess the booty (I'm Asian... go figure), I can safely say that I build on muscle mass very effectively, so, a svelte and slim figure is out of the question.

My mother was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and my grandmother died of a heart attack last year. I am quite terrified of getting diabetes and other diseases as well, so I'm trying to lose weight right now before I get older and have a less effective metabolism and become more susceptible to other diseases.

I've tried a few times to lose weight, but eventually gave up because of various factors- mainly because there wasn't anyone there to give me support (I live far away from friends), my family has an unhealthy diet and lifestyle and I am lazy.

With this motivation and hopefully support from the community here, I hope that I can finally make some real changes for myself and my health. I really hope to lose all that fat off because I am just so scared ****less about diabetes, clogged arteries and your other whatnots. I am currently trying to ease myself into the P90X diet and exercise routine.

So.. yeah.. pleased to make your acquaintance. Here's wishing the best for all my other fat-busting sisters out there! \m/

haha, 90 days is a looooong time. le sigh. i was contemplating this as well- would i really be able to keep it on for 30 days, let alone 90 days? if i did, the weight loss would be tremendous, yet ive never really been a conscientious person enough to keep going at something for a long time. hopefully it would change, though?

as for yoga x, nah. ive only checked out cardio and kendo. the ashtanga position was already mean enough that i could only manage 2, i shiver to think of what the rest of the yoga series will do to me!!!

im from malaysia.. that's faaaaar away in south east asia
