Default My Official Introduction lol!

So, I've been browsing the threads in the calorie counter forum for quite some time now and I figure it's time to introduce myself and participate. I've been doing calorie counting since March 1st. I LOVE IT. I can eat what i want as long as I stick to 1300-1600 calories a day. Although it's made me eat a lot healthier because the healthier I eat the more I get to eat. Since March 1st I've already lost 7.8 pounds. I try to aim for 2 lbs/wk but I guess since I'm just starting out it's pouring off a lot faster. My weight when I started on March 1st was 210.6. I really hope to make my goal of 130 lbs by December 31st, 2010! Just wondering, how long have you guys been counting calories and how many calories have you lost?

Welcome Am! I'm pretty new to this group too - a little over a month. It's a great place for support and the pounds are just dropping off people here like bricks :O)

I started calorie counting in earnest at the beginning of February.

I'm glad you've joined in. There are lots of ladies, a few men with great knowledge and encouragement to share here!

Hi, I started the middle of Jan. and have lost an average of 3 1/2 pounds a week. I love calorie counting as well. I have lost 28 pounds in 8 weeks and have about 45 to get to goal of 145. I figure the pounds lost a week will slow down now that I have been on it a bit, that's ok as I WILL get to goal. I am that determined!

Hi! I only started my calorie counting this week (before I was low carbing..not a lifelong thing for me though.) I haven't gotten on the scale but I feel amazing, I'm keeping a food journal to help keep me accountable. This forum is a great place for support! Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Hi Am. Welcome to our world. I have been at it only 4 weeks tomorrow. Lost 17 lbs as of last Sunday, and won't know how much more (crossing fingers) until I weigh myself tomorrow. Since you've been lurking, you already know what a great site this is. Glad you are comfortable enough now to post and join in the fun!

Welcome to the fold! lol.

I started Sept 1, 2009, have not missed one single day of counting (use a nutritional software so it is easy) and have lost 53 pounds.

Welcome

I started counting calories at the end of November 2009 and I have lost 35 pounds. It can feel a little overwhelming when you start but it gets much easier and routine with time. Are you using an online log like fitday or thedailyplate? They can be very helpful

Oh wow I just realized in my original post I asked how many calories you've lost.. i mean pounds! whoops!!

Thanks for all the kind welcomes.. and congratulations on all those pounds lost! For me the biggest motivator is "if so and so can do it, I can do it". Just seeing someone else accomplish what I want to accomplish as well makes me feel as if my goals are a lot more realistic.

I don't use an online log because I find I forget to log on everyday. I do it the old fashioned way, sit down once a week and make my meal plan for the entire week in an agenda. However, just to have a more visual sense of my progress I have also been using Lose it! on my iPhone for the graphs. I'm so excited to start contributing to the forum since I've already taken away so much from it!
