Default Hit a plateau... need more water?

Sup Ladies, and Gents,
I have been losing pretty steadily for about 2 months now and I have seemed to hit a plateau around this damn 200lb mark for about 2 weeks. Looking back on it, I barely drink any water (unless I am at the gym) and actually... I barely drink anything! I have coffee in the morning and then milk with lunch and milk with dinner and maybe a coffee on the way home. Is this stalling me? Should I drink more water through the day?

I can not say if it is for sure stalling you, but yes you should drink more water. Also, you should drink at least 1 extra glass of water for each cup of coffee you drink. I would expect that to help break the plateau. Water is an essential part of the body and essential in weight loss. Also, it has the added effect of helping with hunger. It seems a lot of the time when we think we are hungry, we are just thirsty. I would start off with around l liters a day. I try to drink 3, but don't always get there. Also, don't try to get it all in at once, just spread it out over the day. Be warned that you will need to pee more often when starting this, but it goes away.

Good Luck

Yep! I definitely see a difference on the scale when I drink alot of water. Its still a struggle to get enough in but it absolutely helps when I do. Im really *picky* with my water though so if I dont have any bottled water I drink ALOT of iced tea, coffee, and more tea. lol I aim for around 100 ounces of water (....cough, or tea) daily...

The peeing for what feels like every 5 minutes does go away after a few days!

I have been stalled too, and I don't think I am getting enough water either. I guess I'll try to drink less of crystal light and more of just plain water. I don't think I have been drinking enough each day. I'll try to up it some to see if I get some results.

I have been working on increasing my water intake since the beginning of the year (have cut out all sodas and sweeteners, save for a rare iced tea with Splenda). I can definitely support what the other posters have said in regards to decreased boredom eating. It sounds sort of strange, but I really think that a large part of my eating problem is based upon the act of eating, rather than real hunger. I need something to occupy my mouth, therefore I put food in it. I now keep a bottle of water with me at all times and refill it thoughout the day. Whenever I think of it, I'll take a sip or two. I'm definitely not snacking like I used to. Do take note that you will have to pee all day, though. I would think that flushing your system this way is also beneficial, so that works, too! Good luck and happy drinking! ;D
