This group is for those dealing with the challenges of having a significant amount of weight to lose and being fit which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.
Hi ladies! Remember me? I've been keeping up with the exercise thread, but really needed to pull back the last week or so. Things might be normalizing a little, though. Yay!
Weight's holding steady, but I'd like to get it moving DOWN.
Chicks - I'm in the zone - found my drive! I'm loving it - We've been back from vacation 3 weeks and it's been 20 POP day - 1 off. I'm starting to feel again like I CAN DO THIS!
I am doing good also. Exercise was hard yesterday but got a long walk in after the kids left. It was cold but a nice way to clear my head after a crazy day with 3 yr olds.
Scales are still up 2lbs. My muscles are still really sore.Im hoping its water.
Carol, I'm slip-streaming off your energy and am about to head out to the garage for my second day on the rowing machine. Thanks for the boost!
I'm up earlier than usual this morning, feeling so rested and ready to go! Got laundry started, dishes washed, and I'm ready to exercise...drank my water this time so I won't get queasy. And, I can watch Battlestar Galactica from my laptop while rowing.
I'm ready to kill some Cylons (my new word for fat cells)!
Barb - glad you're back - what was your favorite part?
Judy - hope the car work on Thurs still let's you get to WW to WI.
Heather - thank for checking in. You're missed but we are behaving ourselves.
Debbie - your makeover makes me want to freshen things - maybe next fall - unfortunately our wallpaper is still in really good shape and timeless.
Georgia - here I thought I was drafting from you exercise - after hearing your rowing plans for March I made an unofficial commitment to myself to exercise every single day. Days with formal classes - no problem. Others - problemo! Worked late tonight but still came home, bundled up, leashed up the girls and off we went - it was cold, invigorating and wonderful. Not to mention somewhat empowering.
My little kids got picked up on time yesterday and I went for my walk outside. It does feel good, a bit cold but spring has to come soon. Even going by the groundhog spring is just 2 weeks away.
My food choices were a bit heavy yesterday at dinner time but I will do better today.
So far today's been pushing my point envelope. I just finished dinner and have no points left for the day. That's unusual for me. I do have some of my extra points available but I think I'm just going to drink water and go to bed early. W/I tomorrow afternoon. Weather should be fine. I feel good. I'll get to my meeting for sure.
We got our annual bonus today. It's not much but might pay for the car's brake job tomorrow. I was planning on using it to pay off the lap top.
No time for personal responses right now.
Back tomorrow.
I got my walk in again. I am loving the quite time of being alone. I am seeing signs of spring..I saw lots of buds on bradford pears as I walked yesterday. I know it will be a few more weeks before we get blooms but the buds are swelling.
Dinner is a problem for me...I am eating to much. I think today I will try and have a tiny snack before my walk and see if that keeps my portions under control better at dinner time.
Scales are not budging...I know it will take time.
Have a great day everyone.
My scales aren't budging either - I need to focus on getting enough rest also. Food and exercise is great - Deb I agree with you - loving being able to be back outside. No buds here and will be very happy when it doesn't require bundling up to head outside.
Change in plans for me, and I am sooooooo annoyed with this! The rowing has exacerbated an injury from the car accident last week. My left wrist is now in a splint from tendonitis and I can't row until it's healed. I can't do weights on that hand either. So, I'm going to switch to my elliptical crosstrainer, which I hate. I think I need to look at this as an opportunity to learn to love the elliptical. Can anyone help me with that?
On the WW front, I'm still overeating on points. I'm supposed have 37 points/day. Day 1 I ate 49 points, Day 2 was 48, and Day 3 was 47. May I count that as progress? Not gaining, not losing. Somewhere along the way, I'm going to find the magic number and I'll start losing. So far today, I'm on track with points. I don't feel hungry. I'm concentrating more on that right now, allowing myself to eat what I want, as long as it's a healthy choice, and I'm genuinely hungry. Sipping on hot tea all day seems to be helping. And for lunch today, I enjoyed some homemade Vietnamese broth with veggies and the Miracle Noodles. It was good, filling and very low points! Like you, Debi, dinner is my overeating downfall. I'm guilty of not planning ahead and overeating when I'm tired, which doesn't show up as progress on the scale in the mornings.
