Default Zumba!

Hi, I just started the Zumba dvd's today. I am so unfit and could only do 15 mins. Is anyone else doing Zumba, would love to hear about your progress.

I am doing Zumba. I started last year but things started happening and I got off track with my exercise. Now with a bright new outlook on getting fit and in shape I'm heading back to something I LOVED doing. I have the DVD's but also watch videos on youtube to change my routine a bit. Oh and I also do DDR( dance dance revolution).

Its the only exercise I enjoy doing since I LOVE dancing, but Zumba's approach is most unique to most "dance" videos I've encountered. You really are moving with the music, every beat, rhythm etc, not just the usual instructional dance videos while going off beat with the music. I wish there were more videos like this.

Hi Red, I scanned through the Dvd's and did the basic moves and it's really fun! It's more motivating for me than the treadmill.. I seem to lose enthusiasm when I just walk on the treadmill as it feels like work! Keep me updated on your progress with Zumba! I haven't heard of DDR but I am going to google it now, thanks so much for letting me know about it

I would love a treadmill but I don't have a place for one right now. So Zumba is the next best thing. LOL

DDR is the next best thing for me as far as "dancing" your basically matching the arrow to the beat of the music. Sounds strange but its really fun. Good luck.

I took a class at the local Y but I felt like I had 2 left feet the class was with people that were doing it for a while. So I purchased the dvd online and am now doing them from home. Once I get some of the routines down I think I will go to the Y again to be with the group. They are very fun and you get a good workout with them.

I do some of the zumba, but mix it up with different fitness dvds because I get bored easily. I did enjoy what I did so far. It was pretty fun, and I worked up a good sweat.

Default I Love Zumba

I love Zumba. I have been doing the DVD for about 3 weeks. I love to dance so this workout is right up my alley. I can tell the difference in my cardio level. I bought a heart rate monitor to see how many calories I am burning. I have been burning anywhere between 475 to 690 per workout. FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just tried the Zumba Basic and WOW! I got through maybe the first 10 minutes. I also feel like I have 2 left feet.. thank God I'm doing this in my apartment, and not a class!

The "diamond" thing was totally killer, I'm gonna feel that in my arms tomorrow! Wow! I can't wait to try again!

EDIT: Apparently there's a Zumba "Gold" for older and "deconditioned" adults... looks like that's what I'll be doing until I get "conditioned"!
