Default I need

a glass of wine...

Well...the "old" me would have to agree with you. (hehe)

I miss my wine too. I would love a glass of a nice moscato right now.

Personally I don't have any problem with having a glass of wine, I just count the calories like everything else and don't overdo it.

I feel ya! I used to have at least one or two glasses of merlot every night! Wine is one those things were "in moderation" comes into full effect for me. I'm sure I can live without it but I don't want to.

IF, and that's a big IF, you can limit yourself to one glass and not make it a bottle, with cheese, crackers, chocolate, etc., etc., etc., then I say have your wine if you enjoy it.

I know that in theory wine is just like everything else and can be worked into a calorie budget but something really weird happens to me when I have a glass or two, I become utterly convinced that I should start scoffing everything I can get my hands on, not a full-on binge, just an overwhelming desire to 'taste' everything in the 'fridge.

I don't get the same thing with gin so I'm sticking to the hard stuff.

I'm like Trudiha - wine makes me hungry.... spirits don't effect my hunger.

Me too. Wine makes me hungry. It lasts the whole next day too. Not just wine though, any alcohol.

Alcohol in moderation, especially red wine, is actually healthy for you! Have a drink! Just count the calories, as others have said.
