Default "I'll do it tomorrow."

Smash! That's the sound of a breakthrough.

We learn so much about ourselves in this journey. And I have just learned something very important and vital to me! I am very content with telling myself that I'll do such-and-such tomorrow. I'll exercise tomorrow. I'll eat my veggies tomorrow. I'll clean the house tomorrow.

A habit I've tried so desperately to break.

So I give up on beating it for now. In fact, I'm going to embrace it! I want some ice cream? Okay, I'll have it tomorrow. Chocolate, sugar? Sure, tomorrow! A glass of soda or McDonalds? Tomorrow's better.

By convincing myself that I can have it tomorrow, I feel satisfied and happy, as if I had it today. It feels so much better than saying I can't eat this or that anymore or not as often. In fact, I can have it whenever I want! Just not today

I like the way you think!

I am definitely a "why do today what you can do tomorrow" kind of girl, and I also rationalize it to myself that it will get done, eventually. I think I'm going to have to start trying that with food cravings!

Talking

I do that too! Except, I actually give myself a date that I can enjoy whatever food I want to enjoy...so, I hold off until that day. I always make it into a sort of celebration.

For example, I've told myself I could go get a chile relleno at my favorite Mexican restaurant on Valentine's Day for some time now.

I think I'm going to push it back, though...for a little bit longer. =3 My birthday has happened recently, so I'm fighting the cake, the cake, the CAKE. And the yummy soul food I had.

But yeah. This is a GREAT technique.

Hey, that's a lot like my shopping motto! If I'm still thinking about that tomorrow, I can go back and get it. Sometimes I do, but usually I don't. Great concept!

Cute!!

I discovered in this journey that I have definitely been a "tomorrow" person my whole life. Big time procrastinator. I prioritize short-term pleasure over long-term needs. I'm also fairly certain it's what allowed me to gain so much weight over the years...

I've not only lost weight over the past few years, but I've gotten better about procrastinating at work.

Sadly, my house is still a mess!
