Question Supplements?

Do you guys take any vitamins or supplements that you think that help you to lose weight? I take a few vitamins for my health, and find that if I don't take them for many days in a row I tend to get sick. I take a multi, fish oil, calcium, iron, vitamin D and glucosamine.

Check your calcium, there should already be vitamin D in it! Any more then you need and you just pee it out hehe. Also double check that you're not doubling anything that's already in your multi - perhaps the iron? Who knows, doesn't hurt to check though! My nutritionist once said that people who over do the supplements have the most expensive pee because they're just "pissin away their money" haha.

Personally though, I just take a multi and calcium.

I just take a multi.

And yes, Americans are known for having the most nutrient rich pee since we take so many of those pills.

I've been wondering about this too, also I've heard that big multivitamins like one-a-days don't dissolve fast enough so you end up poo-ing out a half-dissolved pill. Does anyone think that chewable or gummy vitamins are better?

I take a multi, plus fish oil and a vitamin D supplement during the winter - seems to work well for me

I take a multi, I dont think it helps with weight loss, but being on a low cal diet it doesnt hurt to ensure I dont accidentally cut out too much of something i need

I take a huge chewable multi. The multi vitamins you swallow make me very nauseous so I prefer chewables. I also started taking cold-fx (American ginseng) immune boosters twice daily since September and I swear by them. For the last three years I have been sick ALL fall and winter due to the children bringing school germs home and having a low immune system. Since I started the cold-fx in September, I have only had the sniffle once, nothing more...knock on wood

Vitamin D is fat soluble and your body stores it. You don't pee it out. Most people don't get enough Vitamin D and most doctors believe the RDA is way too low. Personally I take 2400 mg (400 mg is in my multi) of vitamin D daily since I'm fair and shouldn't be out in the sun.

That said, are you anemic? If not, you shouldn't need extra iron unless your multi doesn't have any in it.

I take fish oil, vitamin D and a multi and get the rest of my calcium and iron needs from food.

Similar to me.

I take a multi vitamin, Udo's 3-6-9 oil, vitamin D, slow release b-complex vitamins. I don't know if they directly make me lose weight....but I feel 100000 times better when I take them which in turn lets me be more active.
