Default Isn't this suppose to be the fun part??

So I was getting ready this morning and found myself utterly annoyed.
It use to take such an effort to look cute and plan a flattering outfit, but I had one **** of a wardrobe to help me out with that.
Now! Nothing fits right anymore! It's all too damn big!! What could I expect with losing 35 pounds? Now my skinny jeans that I use to have pour myself into, are too big in the butt and all my tops are hanging off me. When did this happen?! Let's not even talk about my work wardrobe (I have to wear formal professional clothing). All my work pants give me a saggy butt and just look awful now!
And the worst part of it all is I'm not ready to go shopping yet!!!! I was trying to avoid it until I was a size 14, which I am definately not yet. But when I was starting this journey I was almost a size 20 and now the 18's are ginormous, and the 16s are stating to get a little loose too. But the 14's are still too small.
I know I should be excited about buying new clothes, I LOVE clothes! But I'm just not ready yet. I guess it's a good thing I have a huge collection of belts!
Anyone else out there experience this?

I don't have that problem. I never went clothes shopping the problem I have is all my clothes are too small except for one pair of jeans. Once in a while when I hit walmart i'll buy a shirt to wear cause I know when you buy Large from walmart it is Large. I mostly stick to tight track pants. I have a uniform for work so I don't really have to worry about that. But you should be happy! I would be soo happy if my clothes were getting big on me! Now what I don't get is why can't there be a size 15!

Ive lost 36 lbs...Im at a stage now that since I outgrew all my jeans and wore sweats alot of the time when I got up to 277lbs for a few months that Im finially able to fit into all the jeans in my closet. Some of them are starting to get lose but they still fit me good. I wish I was in your position though!!! lol

I just plan to go out and buy 1 or 2 cheap pants and a few tops for each size I go down. Im going to go thrift shopping and hit clearance racks. You dont have to buy a whole warddrobe but some key items to get you by for a couple months until you're down another size! 1 pair of jeans, a couple casual tops, a pair of black work pants, maybe a skirt, and then like 4 or 5 tops and mix and match. You can find some really cheap deals and not have to spend much money!

But if I were you I would definitely go shopping now. You'll be able to get clothes that actually fit you, feel good about yourself, and show off that weightloss! AND you can always sell the clothes that dont fit you anymore on ebay or something and make some money for your goal warddrobe!

Go shopping!!! =)

Thanks girls!
I know I have to bite the bullet and buy a few new pieces.
It's sucks to be in between sizes I've been an 18 for so long that I have quite the wardrobe, and I think a part of me is sad to see those cute clothes go.... luckily I have a friend who is also an 18 I can gift them too. But as a former seamstress I think I might end up altering a few of my favorite pieces to fit me in this weird in between sizes spot--- I'll save that for a project for my vacation next month!
It was funny but I have a few size 14 jeans (with tags still on them) and I thought for fun I'd try them on-- I got them on buttoned and zipped!! Of course they are waaay too tight to wear in public- but my goodness! I can't remember the last time I could get a 14 over my hips!! 10 more pounds I'll be wearing those babies!!

You're right... this should be the fun part, but there's a lot of frustration involved in wearing ill-fitting clothes and not having the cash to dedicate to a new wardrobe that will, in turn, just be as ill-fitting as the stuff you're wearing now.

I second the suggestion of selling your clothes that no longer fit. Ebay is one option, but does your city have any consignment shops? My sister-in-law recently lost a lot of weight, and she sold all of her clothes at a consignment shop. When her items sell, she gets money, or credit to use at the store to buy clothes that are her current size. It's saved her a lot of money, and even earned her some, too. If you sell, then you can use the money you earn to offset the cost of new items.

Before I got this job I bought a lot of pants and shirts and now they're all too big. I'll be selling them at the same consignment shop as my sister-in-law used when I go home this summer. I wish I could sell them now, but I live where there are no clothing stores period, let alone consignment shops! I normally donate clothes that no longer fit, but I spent a lot of money for this wardrobe and only really got about three-four months use out of it.

Like you, I'm also not ready to shop for anything new yet. I want to wait until I hit my goal before I begin to spend. I'm lucky in that I still have a few pairs of smaller pants that I used to be able to fit in, and am just now able to wear again. But if I lose another 10-15lbs, they'll all be huge, too.

I had the same problem. I toughed it out with the too big clothes until I was just about at my goal. I've been maintaining for a while so I've finally started to invest in some new clothes, but I'm still wearing some stuff that's too big. Clothes are so expensive! And I have to get decent stuff for work so I'm building it up slowly. In the meantime some of my clothes bag up in the butt and thighs, but when I wear a new outfit I feel great!

I seriously wish I had your problem

I wish I could be more help, though. Being extremely obese has put me off of clothes shopping so much I don't own many clothes. Literally, just a pair of jeans, a pair of dress pants and 4 or 5 shirts that I wear. Throughout my weight loss I'm just going to buy clothes from stores like Walmart, or clearance sales. I know there would be no point in buying something really expensive because I know I'll grow out it soon (I hope).

I have the same problem everything i own is too big. My only pair of 16 jeans are just a bit baggy, but I tried on some 14's today and I could barely get them over my butt. So I bought a belt. During this time thrift stores are your friend.

I feel you! It is supposed to be exciting, but it is also frustrating. I feel like there is a larger difference between 16 and 14 than the rest of the sizes. I think that is probably because that's where it jumps to "plus size"... it sucks because my 16's are too loose but my 14's are still a tiny bit too tight to where in public. 5 more pounds and 14's will fit for sure!

The in-between sizes are not fun at all! I made good use out of the clearance racks at Old Navy because sizes were so awkward for me. 14's fell off my butt and 12's were too tight. It's just a growth spurt and it will be fun again, I promise!

I am having the exact same problem! I work in a library and one of the librarians always jokes about how I can't keep my pants on! (because they are too big of course )

But today I hit up a local thrift shop that everything is half off on the weekends. I bought 4 shirts and a pair of dress pants for $10! Unfortunately, there was no dressing room so I just sized up the clothes and all but one sweater is too small. BUT I figure they will fit soon enough! I think I am going to stop by the same thrift store every weekend and see what I can find!

I also plan on selling my too big clothes at a consignment shop and save that money for when I actually hit my goal!

What I really need to do is learn how to sew so I can alter my clothes! I have 3 pairs of really nice dress pants that I don't know if I can part with!

I hit thrift stores. Do you and your friends ever have clothing exchanges?

Also, if you have a sewing machine, it's pretty easy to take in a lot of clothing. Another alternative is a tailor, for favorite pieces.

I'm lucky in that I have never gotten rid of a lot of my too small jeans and pants. I have from size 20 to size 14, so I have a while before I buy clothes. And my mom is size 12 so I figure I will borrow a couple things from her to last me once i get that size.
