I sent one of my girlfriends a link to my 3fc blog a while ago. Now bear in mind we are both always saying we are going to conquer the unhealthy flab. Otherwise I wouldn't have shared it.
We just had a conversation about it:
She : I can't believe you put that out there for the whole world too see. Your pics, weight , etc. What if someone you know see's it. ( my name. address etc isn't on there btw~ no major personal info)
Me: what to I care if they know me they already know I'm fat. So wha~t they will know I'm working on it.
She: what if on of your ex's finds it or a client.
Me: ( now bear in mind my 18th wedding anniversary is in Feb) ummm I'm pretty sure my ex's are not trolling diet blogs but if they are what do I care if they see it?
She: well they will KNOW you got fat
Me: yeah and I care because..................
She: well you should!
Me: why?
She: because now everyone will know you got fat!
Me: yep~ but your not quite getting the point I don't care who knows I got fat. So I'm fat. It's not a secret is it????
Is this a crazy conversation or what????? It came totally out of left field because I swear to high heavens she usually makes total sense and is very rational. Obviously she must fear people finding out she got fat?????

I had a very similar conversation with my 11 year old cousin today. She said, why do you put pictures on your blog for billions of people to see? Isn't that the point? In this environment it is a safe place. If outsiders find it- well since most of America needs help in the area of health and losing weight they will most likely be helped or inspired by seeing the braveness of others!

Three words: The Biggest Loser! Those people are putting their 200, 300, 400+# etc selves on national TV for cryin'outloud!
wow, I do the 3FC blog for me, I doubt very many people at all look at it, ha. I've only mentioned to 2 people I know that I even post here, and only one knows the name of the site, my bf, the other I told I post at a weight loss site. It's not a huge secret to the world I have weight to lose, that's for sure!

That's for sure !! People actually love these contestants. They aren't static people who have never suffered. We love to see people change themselves for the better and get a hold on life. I think including a small scale it is fun to see people change.
A lot of people are in denial about weight gain, I know I used to be. I mean, I could see it, and I knew how much I weighed, but for some reason it never occurred to me that other people could SEE it. Until I accepted the fact that I had gotten HUGE and it wasn't something that I was HIDING, I never got serious about weight loss.
At first I was a little afraid of someone I know seeing what I really had to say about myself but then I realize if theyre on here...theyre obviously here for the same reason. Weight issues. Otherwise how would they even know I was on here? Plus the support I get on here is whats helping me along so I could care less who knows Im here. Im fat and everyone can see it. I'm 250 lbs! Theres no hiding that! lol
I don't know, I think it's great that you are happy to blog and share everything with others. I also get why some people are scared at the thought. Everyone just has different issues they're private about. It's unfortunate that your friend is trying to bully you about the fact that you have a blog, but as others have said, that's her issue. I love to read weight loss blogs so I get why people do them, but I'm not up for going so public myself.
I love this website because I feel like I can be pretty anonymous yet still set up public goals. I wouldn't want stupid exes knowing I regained the weight I lost or whatever, but I do love to talk about weight loss with others who are like-minded.
