Default Thank you!

I just wanted to thank all of you for sharing and giving me a place where I can go and not feel so alone!

My name is Dawn, and I've been reading around on this forum for a few days now. I haven't posted anything on here yet as I just recently remembered I had an account here....lol

I started my weight loss journey in April of this year at 257. I'm now at 142 with about 12 more lbs to go to reach my goal. The acceptance issues I've been having with my new body brought me back to 3fc and to this forum. I have found myself nodding my head in agreement over and over again as I read through the posts. I am so happy to have found others who know what I am going through. I was feeling incredibly alone.

Anyway, all this to say thank you all for your wonderful posts. :-)

Dawn

Thanks Meg. It's always neat to find others with the same "stats" as you.

Yeah, when I saw the post where someone mentioned underarm "caves", I knew I was in the right place. lol

No one warns you....or at least me...about all of the changes you will go through when losing large amounts of weight. Not just the physical, but the emotional as well. The letdown of maybe not having the body you envisioned, the need to find a new identity. The jealousy, the spouse/family members who don't know how to relate to the new you. The constant unsolicited comments on your body.

The feeling that it's all a dream because you've wanted this SO bad for SO long, yet the fear that it's somehow not real and you will wake up back where you started. The way you somehow do not see the real you when looking in a mirror, but rather the heavier you. Forgetting that you no longer need to move out of people's way and no longer need to shop in the plus size section. The apprehension that somehow you've gained weight and don't really wear size 8 jeans after all.

The way that people look up to you, always asking you how you did it, as if you will somehow have the magic answer that will unlock the ability for them to have success.

I could go on and on....but I won't. It's just so nice to know there are others out there who get it.
