So I'm a bit frustrated...my friends give me crap about not ever wanting to do anything so tonight we are going to dinner for a breast cancer fundraiser...Dinner is at the Melting Pot...yes per deliciousness but dinner is 1400 calories and 60 grams of fat...thats more than I eat in a whole day...and I dont have time to go to the gym with being stuck at work all day... I guess I want to get out of it but that wouldnt be very nice... and it is for charity...I just wanted to vent... Its like everything revolves around food... which is easy when you are skinnny but not when you are fat and trying to lose weight... I would rather go to the gym and eat dinner with my family haha
I completely agree that things revolve around food all too often. I can't believe dinner there is 1400 calories! I've never been there. But ... it is a fundraiser & you can feel good about the positive effects from that. Maybe just work a little harder tomorrow or something? I completly understand your emotions.
sixty grams of fat is what got me... I guess it is all of the cheese and the delish chocolate fondue...ugh... I will have to stay at the gym for 4 hours tomorrow to work that off haha
Maybe go, but don't eat as much. Or just do little dabs in the cheese and chocolate. They give you as many veggies as you want, fill up on those instead. You can go and still have a good time with your friends, without killing your diet.
What if you stick to chicken only? Or JUST dessert and have a FEW bananas with the chocolate? You know like pick at it as to not indulge and have the full 1400.
There's no reason you have to eat all of it... the charity gets your money whether you eat ANY of it or not. You could eat as much as you're willing to plan into your day, then eat something filling and low-cal when you get home if you're still hungry. It does suck that it will cut into your gym time. But hopefully you'll have fun and it will be worth it!
let us know how it goes! I agree with the others - take a few nibbles of the cheese/chocolate fondue; but eat the rest of the veggies/fruit plain. Also, don't worry about finishing the plate; listen to the signal in your body warning you that you are FULL! Your friends will see that you are eating/enjoying food with them and prob won't be too concerned if your plate isn't finished...
