I see so many lovely and personalized avatars around the forum. Can you all describe what we see in your avatars, why you chose it, and how it inspires you?
My avatar is my fitness hero, Sylwia Weisenberg - the creator of Tonique Fitness. Her exercise videos are nothing but a series of cardio lunges and squats. You never stop lunging or squatting in the 30min video and the cardio becomes very intense. The funny thing is that if I'm traveling I try to do the routine by memory (it's just lunges and squats after all, right?) for approximately 15minutes and I can't do it without her. Whatever her exact exercise progression is, it works amazingly and without injury whereas if I do it myself for 15 minutes from memory I always end up hurting myself somehow.
She's quite an inspiration for me and I've even posted pictures of her as my desktop - every morning it's like she's telling me "ok let's go do some squats!"
Mine is a photo I took in Noosa National Park, Queensland, Australia. That's my peace place, the most beautiful and relaxing place I've ever been. I lived in Brisbane for 5 months (study abroad), and any time I needed to get out of the city or away from school I just caught the next bus to Noosa. It's where I picture myself when I meditate. It just calms me.
On another forum, one of the members was using MS Paint to make avatars for different posters. He painted mine and gave it the title Ridiculously Happy after I moved in with my now-husband.
It's silly, but it's truth. And on days when I'm struggling, I remember how rarely I felt that happy before, and it lifts my spirits to know that life is so much better. And when life is so much better, how much of a struggle can being healthy be?!
I just changed mine when I saw Shakira's new video a few days ago. That woman has an amazing toned body with curves - exactly what I want! I put that picture up as an inspiration.
Mine is me and my hubby on the beach. Two of my favorite things that I miss very much. I use to live in CA I am now in CO.(I do love it here too though) My husband is gone 4 days a week most weeks. So i put them up there to make me smile.
Mine is a pic of me. I used to have a pic of Lokelani McMichael, who is m fitness idol. She is an amazing triathlete from Hawaii and she is beautiful and in shape and driven.
haha, mine is gwen stefani b/c i love her, but its also from a video where shes breaking out of jail because i feel controlled by my weight. once i hit my goal i will be free!
Well, my boyfriend named me Diva years ago, I am a tom-boy & a girly girl wrapped up into one, those are my fav pink tennis shoes. I actually have those shoes (excpet mine aren't high-tops) hehe! and Pink is my favorite color!
I change mine periodically - sometimes with the seasons and sometimes just because. The current one if my young Bolonka and is a reminder that I want to be strong and healthy so I can outlive him.
