I don't belong to a gym. I jog on trails near my house for about an hour a day.
You can definitely just work out at home doing excercise tapes and whatnot. I think I will join a gym come winter, but until then I am perfectly content without exercise machines.
10 pounds in 30 days is fairly aggressive, but doable, especially if it's the first 10 lbs. Yes 30DS definitely will make a difference, even just on its own. That's all I do during the week. I try to do at least one other video on weekend days.
I use a home workout dvd, weight watchers perfect fit, and i have some weights that i use for strength training. and i pushchair for me baby to go jogging/walking.
I only exercise at home. I've built up quite a collection of equipment over the years - a step for step aerobics, dumbbells ranging from 5lb to 45lb (ok, the 45s are my husband's, I can barely carry one from room to room!), a bar that you hang on a door frame to do pull-ups, and the equipment that came with the FIRM videos about 7 years ago.
I did the 30 Day Shred up to level 2 and it was a great workout (I'm assuming level 3 is, too!). Right now my routine is running 3 days a week and doing Jillian's "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" 3 days a week.
If you're pretty close to your goal weight, 10 lbs in 30 days might not be realistic. But it can't hurt to shoot for that, as long as you won't be super upset if you don't reach it.
The 30 day shred is a great workout program on its own, and you'll definitely get fitter and healthier, but you might find that you need to burn more calories if you want to lose weight that quickly. Even just adding on some walking might help!
30 Day Shred will be VERY beneficial to you Jillian suggests taking 2 days off from it a week (I am listening to her podcast as I type lol) . . . not 100% sure if she says that on the DVD though.
Romana-alot depends on your starting weight. Generally, the heavier you are, the easier/faster it will be for you to lose that 10lbs. I weight just under 250lbs now and easily lost my first 10lbs in a little over a week. it's mostly water weight, other waste, etc. up your fiber alot if you can.
I was one of those people that paid for an expensive gym membership that I never use. I still exercise but I prefer exercising at home. Some people say that it's easier to go to the gym but for me, it's easier so I don't talk myself out of going. You have to do what you know you can commit to. Good luck with 30 day shred. Let us know how it goes!
